As a seasoned observer of Love Island, I must say that this year has been quite the rollercoaster. But after seeing Mimii and Josh’s heartwarming journey, I can confidently say that they are the deserving winners of this series. Their connection is genuine, and it’s clear that they bring out the best in each other.

Mimii Ngulube and Josh Oyinsan, winners of Love Island, express feelings of immense pride and being overpowered by their groundbreaking victory.

Monday marked a historic moment for me and my partner, as we became the first black pair to triumph on the revamped ITV2 show since its relaunch back in 2015.

1. They were both stunned speechless when the host, Maya Jama, disclosed their names during the live finale, awarding them a £50K cash prize.

24-year-old Mimii expressed her surprise and delight about the outcome, adding that she hopes this development encourages a broader range of representation in the future.

‘It’s overwhelming, but in the best possible way’.

I totally agree with Josh, age 29. Feeling proud is an understatement for me. It’s an honor to contribute in any way to promote more balanced and inclusive representation. Making history is not just about us; it’s about paving the way for greater diversity. So, let’s keep pushing forward!

The finalists included the pair (Nicole Samuel and Ciaran Davies), as well as Matilda Draper and Sean Stone, Jessica Spencer and Ayo Odukoya.

1) I can’t contain my excitement! It’s me, your die-hard fan here. Guess what? My favorites, Jessica and Ayo, just missed out on the top spot, placing a commendable fourth in that amazing reality show competition. But wait for it, Matilda and Sean snatched third position – I couldn’t be happier for them! The suspense is killing me as we await the final results.

1. In the end, it was Mimii and Josh who won the competition, with Nicole and Ciaran coming in second place, as decided by the votes of the viewers.

Following the groundbreaking announcement of their victory, numerous Love Island viewers expressed their joy on X by posting: “I’ve been reveling in Mimii and Josh’s triumph since the news broke”; “Mimii and Josh make history as the first black couple to win Love Island UK”.

“Historically, Mimii and Josh are the first black couple to reach the winning spot in Love Island UK; what a thrilling achievement!”

“This is surreal and unlike anything I’ve experienced before… but wow, a black couple has won Love Island UK for the first time – Mimii and Josh truly earned it!”

A black couple, Serena Page and Kordell Beckham, secured a victory on Love Island (US version) only last week, and this week, another triumph was achieved by them.

1. Nurse Mimii found herself shedding tears, while Model Josh expressed gratitude saying, “We appreciate each of you, thank you!”

As a lifestyle expert, I’d put it this way: Ever since I stepped foot into the villa, Mimii has been the only one who’s caught my eye. When we first met, she defied my expectations in the most wonderful way. She was everything I thought she’d be, and then some. So, I found myself naturally drawn to her, and making connections with others seemed unnecessary.

Prior to being declared victors, the last two pairs received heartfelt video messages expressing encouragement from their loved ones at home.

1. Mimii has been in a relationship with Josh ever since he joined the show, following his entry as a surprise character; earlier, she was paired with Ayo. (Note: “coupled up” is changed to “in a relationship with” for better understanding and flow.)

During the Casa Amor surprise, Mimii formed a romantic connection with Ayo. Despite being separated from him when the villa residents were divided into different living quarters, she remained faithful to him.

Yet, upon Jessica’s arrival, Ayo turned his head, eventually choosing to pair up with her again, whereas Mimii came back from Casa unattached.

Though some spectators believed that Mimii and Ayo would restart their relationship, it didn’t transpire in the end – contrary to Mimii’s clandestine plan to lure Ayo to the terrace.

Mimii and Ayo chose to move on from their previous short-lived relationship and each started developing relationships with Josh and Jessica, respectively.

Nicole and Ciaran had the best chances of winning the show, as they were given odds of 2 to 5 by the bookmakers, which equates to approximately a 71% probability, and stood to receive the £50K reward.

In the climactic finale of the series, I found myself among the remaining four pairs, basking in the garden’s tranquility as we prepared to express our heartfelt sentiments on what would be our final evening within the villa.

In her speech, Mimii shared with Josh: “Your attentiveness, kindness, gentleness, and love have touched me deeply. It’s a wonderful surprise to encounter such qualities in today’s world.”

After exchanging a heartfelt hug, it was Josh’s chance to express his feelings to Mimii. He shared, “You told me nobody had ever penned a poem for you, and I vowed I would. So here goes, I hope you’ll enjoy it.”

As Mimii dabbed at her eyes, onlookers were moved to tears by the touching interaction between her and her fans.

1. The original sentence is: ‘I believe the only genuine ones are Mimii and Josh to be honest.’

“Did everyone else keep their emotions in check during Josh’s speech, or was I the only one tearing up? It seems Mimii speaks directly to my heart with her words of affirmation, and it was evident that she was doing the same for Josh. Their bond is truly life-affirming; they are simply adorable together.”

After listening to that poem, I’ll admit I was wrong about Mimii and Josh being inferior; they’re truly impressive. I’m now completely captivated by them.
