Love Is Blind UK star Nicole who married Benaiah on the Netflix show weighs in on ex fiancé Sam’s wild claims that he turned her down for sex

Her anguish stemmed from previously being married for two years before the relationship failed and the fear of history repeating itself made her feelings even harder to process.
She shared: “Upon entering the experiment, I desired unwavering certainty about myself. However, I was mistaken. I believed things should appear in a specific manner, which led me to overlook the warning signs that my intuition was signaling towards Sam.”
In other words, your assumption that I had previous experience with this situation made me almost freeze up, as I deeply desired to make the right choice for a lifelong marriage partner who truly wanted the same. Fear took over when Ben seemed like a risky prospect because I worried about his commitment, and my thoughts about him escalated, leading to panic.
Initially, my gut feeling suggested something, yet I found myself hesitant and filled with self-doubt during the process. The uncertainty stemmed from past experiences as I’ve been married before and that relationship didn’t last. When I recognized that I might have made a similar mistake, I tried to suppress it in my mind. Although I had already made the decision, the lingering doubts remained present.
‘I thought I am a person of my word, and I want to make sure I can at least give him a chance. But even when I first saw him, I was not excited if I’m honest… I didn’t feel it, which was my genuine truth, but I had been scared to say that. I was lying to myself.’
After being heartbroken by the rejection, Benaiah found himself distraught and sought refuge in Germany. It was there that his mother and sister comforted him, sharing how he had difficulty finding an appetite due to the emotional distress.
Originally from Preston, a man who openly identifies as a wanderer, hadn’t come across the show “Love Is Blind” until its creators reached out to him to be part of the initial British production. Having been unattached for the past ten years, he grabbed this chance enthusiastically.
However, even though Sam tried to sow seeds of uncertainty in private scenes shot inside their shared dwelling, Benaiah remained vigilant.
He said: ‘It hit me harder than I realised, I didn’t prepare for the rejection, so it shook me. Going away from that was difficult too. I had to wrap my head around it.
Instead of anticipating that it would take a couple of weeks for Nicole to understand Sam better and eventually reach out when ready, I wasn’t expecting things to progress this quickly.
“I acknowledge that I haven’t been open with you, and the reason for this is that I heard some things about Nicole that raised concerns in me. However, I should clarify that these doubts were passed on to me by someone else who wasn’t present at the events in question, and whose motivations may not have been entirely genuine.”
In retrospect, I wish I had been less cautious, but at the time, I didn’t want to risk having my feelings hurt in front of a global audience.
Benaiah feels no remorse following his decision to question Sam’s intentions during the program, which was initially hosted by the married duo Emma and Matt Willis.
Since their wedding held in September of the previous year, Benaiah has expressed that his affection for Nicole has intensified. This is largely due to her kind-hearted character, a trait he identifies as the sole drawback during their dating trial.
He stated: “I needed to ensure Nicole’s safety, and I will consistently choose that path. I felt compelled to confront him. If the situation were to arise again, I’d react similarly, and I’m relieved I maintained my composure throughout.”

It bothered me since my intentions for joining this show were pure – I wanted to find a genuine partner because I’ve been single for the last decade. It felt unfair to me, as if I was being treated unjustly. I was just trying to make the right choice.’
‘Nicole consistently exhibits a pure spirit by finding goodness in others, though this sometimes leads to challenges in certain situations. However, what truly amazes me is that Nic remains authentic to herself, with her fundamental values and principles remaining steadfast, which is simply astonishing.’
The couple made the ultimate commitment by saying ‘I do’ on their wedding day, cementing their connection which was first established behind a screen.
Instead of the casual approach of reality shows like “Married At First Sight UK,” where vows are exchanged on-screen, they took it to the next level by entering into a genuine marriage, signing a legally binding contract. I’m all in for this commitment!
