Louise Thompson reveals the real reason she turned down Channel 4’s offer to appear in spinoff Beyond Chelsea after she was replaced on show by former co-star Lucy Watson
As a dedicated fan who has followed Louise Thompson‘s journey since her Made In Chelsea days, it’s always a bittersweet moment when she steps away from the limelight. However, I must admit that her life experiences have been nothing short of extraordinary and inspiring.
According to our sources at TopMob, Louise Thompson declined the invitation from Channel 4 to join the spinoff series Beyond Chelsea with her pals Binky Felstead and Rosie Fortescue.
Originally popular on Made In Chelsea, now aged 34, decided not to participate in the upcoming two-part series starting on Tuesday. Instead, it’s Lucy Watson, an ex-cast member and also 33 years old, who will take her place. Interestingly, producers had initially aimed for Louise to have a leading role, contrary to Binky’s earlier confirmation.
In their thirties and having established families with partners, Binky, Lucy, and Rosie are the focus of Beyond Chelsea. While Binky and Lucy share their domestic lives, Rosie offers a glimpse into her business endeavors and romantic adventures.
It has been disclosed that Louise, who nearly lost her life during childbirth with her son Leo in 2021, expresses her support for the latest show; however, due to personal hardships, it was challenging for her to participate fully at this point in time.
A source disclosed: ‘It emerged that Louise was given an opportunity to appear in Beyond Chelsea, a prospect she pondered over, as acting alongside her buddies Binky and Rosie promised to be quite entertaining.’
Ah, the agony! Alas, my heart sank when I learned that she wasn’t accessible for our filming sessions because she was already committed to another endeavor. It was a heart-wrenching choice she had to make, and unfortunately, she decided not to join us on this project.
‘She supports Beyond Chelsea and is looking forward to the series airing this week.’
According to a source within the television industry, the producers had wished for Louise to consent to filming inside her shared home with partner Ryan Libbey. This would have included footage featuring her brother Sam and his partner Zara McDermott, who reside in a neighboring property.
As a lifestyle enthusiast, I can’t help but express my excitement for those who have followed the captivating journey of Louise and Sam since their early days. If you’ve been with them throughout their family growth and cheered them on during Sam’s triumphant run last year on I’m A Celeb, then you wouldn’t want to miss out on what’s coming next!
In January, Binky shared with TopMob that a project called Beyond Chelsea was being developed, involving her along with Rosie and Louise. She characterized their relationship as akin to family.
Louise, Rosie, and I remain incredibly close friends, consistently finding opportunities to share meals together, whether it be over lunch or dinner. We’ve formed a bond similar to that of family.
For a decade now, I’ve had the privilege of chronicling my life with this incredible companion. If only these four walls could listen to our conversations, they’d have tales that echo with laughter, tears, victories, and defeats – a testament to our unbreakable bond.
Over the summer, I was beyond thrilled when I learned that I, a die-hard fan, had a hand in commissioning an exciting new project by none other than Binky, Lucy, and the brilliant Rosie!
Louise, known for her role in Made In Chelsea between 2011 and 2020, has experienced some tough times since the birth of her son, Leo, who will be turning three soon.
In the new book “Lucky,” the author experienced a harrowing ordeal during childbirth when Leo was born. Just days after, she hemorrhaged severely, losing a significant amount of blood and necessitating multiple blood transfusions to survive.
Independently, she was admitted to the hospital due to ulcerative colitis, a digestive system disorder. Later, she underwent a procedure involving a stoma bag, an appliance that she believes played a crucial role in her survival.
Due to the traumatic events that occurred during childbirth, Louise developed post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Since then, she has been working through her postnatal anxiety with therapy, all while receiving love, help, and understanding from her partner and tight-knit family.
In her monthly article titled “Unfiltered” for YOU magazine, Louise expressed that the experience has fortified her bond with Ryan.
She says the personal trainer admits he wouldn’t have been able to cope with even 10 per cent of the physical, emotional and mental torture she endured, with Ryan changing the way he sees Louise but for the better.
