Blizzard Entertainment recently unveiled a fresh Hearthstone expansion, featuring characters you might recognize. Let me share all you need to know about the Lost City of Un’Goro – its launch date, the unique Keyword ‘Kindred’, forthcoming cards, and other details!

New Hearthstone expansion: Lost City of Un’Goro
In Hearthstone, the upcoming expansion is known as “The Lost City of Un’Goro.” If you’re a seasoned player, you might recall the first Journey to Un’Goro from 2017. This time, we revisit the location with more intriguing secrets to uncover. The expansion offers 145 fresh cards, presents a new keyword called Kindred, introduces Story and Map cards, and resurrects the popular Quest mechanic.

Lost City of Un’Goro release date
Starting from July 1, you can get a sneak peek into the upcoming Hearthstone expansion with the pre-release Tavern Brawl for The Lost City of Un’Goro. But if you’re eager to dive right into the new expansion, mark your calendars for July 8!
Prior to these launch dates, Blizzard Entertainment offered players a preview of what they can anticipate regarding the new cards. Back then, you might remember, Quests were one-mana spells that started in a player’s hand. The Lost City of Un’Goro expansion includes a fresh legendary Quest card for each Hearthstone class, and Reanimated Terror is the Quest assigned to the Death Knight class.

Hearthstone Kindred keyword explained
As a Hearthstone player, I find that cards tagged as ‘Kindred’ grant an extra edge when played if I’ve deployed a similar minion type or spell school on my previous turn. A perfect example of this Kindred card is the Gravedawn Voidbulb, a Shadow spell hailing from the Priest Class.

Hearthstone Story and Map cards explained
In all, the latest addition includes seven narrative cards called Stories. Each card showcases a character from the Tortollan race, who seems to recall old Quests and activates distinctive actions linked to those journeys.

Concerning the latest Map cards in Hearthstone, they enable you to draw a random card, and if you utilize this card during the same turn, an additional card will be drawn for you. In all, there are six Map cards included in the new expansion of Hearthstone.
