Lorraine Stanley reveals she has lost seven stone from weight-loss surgery after fearing for her life

It’s been a year since Lorraine Stanley left EastEnders, and she’s shared that she’s lost a remarkable seven stone, motivated by serious health concerns.

The 49-year-old actress, known for playing Karen Taylor on the soap opera for seven years, revealed she feared a heart attack because her father died from one and her mother had heart bypass surgery.

The mother said she thinks she gained weight while working on EastEnders because she was earning a good salary.

I’m so incredibly proud of Lorraine! She’s worked so hard and lost a lot of weight after having gastric sleeve surgery. It’s amazing to see her confidence shine – she just shared photos on Instagram of herself in a thong bikini, and it’s the first time she’s felt comfortable enough to wear one in two decades! It’s truly inspiring.

She admitted to splurging when she had more money, saying it was actually better not to be working because she couldn’t afford daily luxuries anymore. She told The Sun she’d gone overboard with her spending.

Lorraine loves her slim physique, but she does regret having gastric sleeve surgery, which removed most of her stomach.

Looking back, she wished she had lost weight through diet and exercise alone. She realized that whenever she felt unhappy, she tended to overeat and regain the weight, so she needed to completely change how she thought about food and her body.

With weight-loss injections gaining traction in the UK, Lorraine Kelly shared that she previously tried Wegovy – one of the earlier medications of its kind – but it wasn’t effective for her.

The BBC personality shared that she initially lost about twelve pounds with the injections, but regained it all quickly once she stopped using them.

Even after having gastric sleeve surgery, Lorraine worries her stomach might expand again, causing her to regain the weight she lost.

The actress is happy she can now keep up with her daughter without getting winded, and she’s even felt confident enough to wear a thong bikini since marrying her partner of twelve years, Mark Perez.

She shared that she felt surprisingly confident wearing a thong bikini, even recalling wearing it on her honeymoon. Usually shy and self-conscious about her body, she said she felt empowered and confident, feeling like a celebrity while wearing it.

Lorraine previously shared with New magazine that she underwent the procedure at a London clinic, paying a significant amount of money to do so.

‘It’s hands-down the best thing I’ve ever done – both for me and for my family.’

In July Lorraine revealed to fans she had given up booze as part of her health journey.

She said on social media: ‘I’m five months sober and still had a good night dancing! #Sobriety.’

Two years after leaving EastEnders, Lorraine has completely changed her lifestyle. This followed the decision by show producers to end her character’s storyline.

She recalled how she watched back an episode of the BBC soap and ‘could barely look at myself’.

Lorraine married her partner of many years in a beautiful outdoor ceremony in Harpenden, Hertfordshire, in August.

Lorraine looked sensational in a white ruffled gown as she showed off her slimmer physique.

She looked beautiful in a boat-neck dress with a classic polka dot pattern. Completing her wedding look with a traditional veil and pearl jewelry, she said her vows.

Mark, the groom, beamed with happiness, looking sharp in a green suit, white shirt, and gold tie. He and Lorraine have been together for twelve years.

Their ten-year-old daughter, Nancy, was a beautiful flower girl. She wore a light pink princess dress and had flowers in her hair.

It was such a beautiful wedding, filled with all the people she loves! I was especially touched to see Danny Walters there – you might remember him as ‘Keanu’ from the show. It was lovely of him to come, especially considering his character had such a dramatic exit last Christmas! It really shows how close they all are.
