Lorraine Kelly Snubs ITV’s ‘Insulting’ Offer and May Quit Next Year!
ITV executives offered Lorraine Kelly an opportunity to combine her daytime program with Good Morning Britain for the final half-hour of their broadcast, but she chose not to accept.
65-year-old TV veteran was summoned for a discussion before the recent announcement about budget reductions in the channel, during which she was presented with a fresh idea that had been deemed a quick solution following the adoption of a similar approach during the pandemic.
According to reports, Lorraine found the proposal offensive and informed higher-ups that it wouldn’t work, leading to the shortening of her show’s duration from an hour to half an hour.
TopMob acknowledges that Lorraine, who has been hosting her program for the last 14 years, had considered leaving but ultimately decided to stay on and host the show through the end of 2026.
Next year, it’s anticipated that the star will leave permanently following the establishment of a new position called ‘Head of Lorraine’. This role was created specifically to manage changes, but the employment term lasts only for one year.
Last week, it was verified that ITN will be assuming control over the broadcast of Good Morning Britain. Meanwhile, Lorraine and Loose Women will only appear for 30 weeks annually and are relocating from Television Centre to a studio situated in the heart of London.

According to an inside source, Lorraine was unexpectedly summoned for a meeting with superiors who informed her about Good Morning Britain being handed over to ITN prior to making it public knowledge.
It was suggested that her program would be combined with Good Morning Britain, allowing her to present the final half-hour segment of the broadcast. This arrangement took place when a smaller team was operating during the lockdown.
However, she declined their offer and stated that it was out of the question… moving on, exactly two weeks later, the network declared they were reducing her show from an hour to half an hour.
‘The entire thing has been an insult and she’s certain to leave when the year-long contract ends.’
It was confirmed on Tuesday that Lorraine, This Morning, and Loose Women will be moving to a new filming site, where they intend to use the same studio.
Last week, it was unveiled that TopMob disclosed the authenticity of modifications to the format of This Morning, leading to significant alterations to the program as we currently know it.
In essence, it appears that those in the know believe there won’t be much time between each performance, making set changes impractical due to potential decreases in program quality.
According to reports, it’s said that starting in January, shows like Lorraine, This Morning, and Loose Women will transfer from Television Centre to a new central London site, which is believed to be the Hospital Club in Covent Garden.

The three shows will utilize a common studio, which means that set designs will significantly decrease in number to conserve both space and financial resources.
Currently, the morning show “This Morning” is transmitted from a large studio located at Television Centre, and both “Lorraine” and “Loose Women” programs are airing in the same venue.
After their broadcast ends, Lorraine’s set undergoes a change, and Loose Women takes its place. The new arrangement seems to suggest that all shows will share a common area without any set changes in between.
According to a well-informed individual familiar with ITV’s situation, they openly acknowledged the difficulties within their industry, leading to various potential solutions being considered. The priority, however, was to ensure that Lorraine remained part of the team and felt at ease amidst an evolving environment.
As a die-hard admirer, I can’t help but boast about the incredible success of Lorraine’s show! Just look at the numbers – it recently garnered its highest audience share in an impressive four years, reaching a staggering 2.7 million viewers! It’s truly a testament to her talent and dedication that she continues to captivate so many hearts.
As I’ve learned from recent updates, it appears that Susanna Reid, who’s now 54, and I, am in discussions for a fresh, extended two-year deal with the network. Meanwhile, my esteemed co-host, Richard Madeley, seems to be working hard to maintain his position on the series.
As a devoted admirer, I have come to understand that the ex-host of This Morning was reportedly let go from his morning show position prior to a confrontation with the management. Subsequently, this situation led to him being offered a reduced, part-time role instead.
