Lorraine Kelly has shared a health update after undergoing “preventative” surgery on Saturday.
Over the weekend, I hopped onto Instagram to share a video straight from my hospital room. In this video, I explained that I was undergoing a little medical procedure. Nothing too scary, just a tad uncomfortable!
The speaker underwent a preventive, minimally invasive surgical procedure in a hospital to remove her ovaries and fallopian tubes. In simpler terms, she had a preventative surgery performed through a small incision to take out her ovaries and fallopian tubes.
On a Sunday, Lorraine updated her fans, informing them that she was safely back home and in the process of recovery following an operation. She also expressed gratitude for the exceptional care provided by the medical team at the hospital where she underwent treatment.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Lorraine expressed gratitude for the thoughtful, compassionate, and lovely healthcare providers she encountered at Heatherwood Hospital. Now safely back home, she’s diligently adhering to her doctor’s advice to take it easy and get plenty of rest.
Mr. Ahmed Rafaat, my surgeon, has been incredibly comforting during this process, and I can’t express enough gratitude for the entire team.

I recently had some examinations, and it turns out that I need to undergo a procedure to remove my ovaries and fallopian tubes for preventative reasons. This will be done using keyhole surgery, which is quite remarkable. I’m receiving excellent care and will catch up with you soon. Don’t worry, I’ll be just fine and look forward to seeing you again.
