Lorna Luxe recently held a charity auction to remember her husband, John Andrews, who sadly passed away from cancer last month.
The businessman, 21 years older than Lorna, fought a battle with advanced adrenal cancer after receiving his diagnosis in April 2023.
Lorna announced his death on February 12. The couple had been married for 16 years.
She posted on her Instagram feed for the first time since Tuesday, sharing videos from a charity auction she had been organizing with the person who passed away.
The event was cancelled due to his declining health, and sadly, he passed away soon after following a long illness. It successfully raised funds for both Maggie’s cancer charity and The Meath Epilepsy Charity.
She shared a heartwarming video of her and John, saying she’d always cherish those little everyday moments. Her caption simply read, ‘He’s gone, but I feel him everywhere.’
“We finally held the charity sale we’d been planning, as a tribute to John,” she explained. “He really wanted me to make sure it happened.”
She then shared videos of herself getting ready to go to the event in Manchester.
Lorna shared that she often feels better when she’s lonely by connecting with her followers on social media and chatting with them.
She said she was amazed by the huge number of people who came to the event, and filmed the long lines forming outside the venue.
Lorna explained that the event was special – it wasn’t just about raising money, but also about honoring John and celebrating his life. She was sure he would have really enjoyed it.
‘So moving forward I am always going to ask myself – ‘what would John do?’.
She wrote in the post’s caption: ‘What would John do?’ We raised a lot of money for two charities we care about this weekend… and on top of that, I’m also moving!’
On Tuesday, Lorna posted a previously unreleased video of John, and shared that it was both heartwarming and sad to rewatch old footage of him.
Lorna said she was very thankful to have so much video of John, as he often appeared on her social media accounts.
I always loved watching the behind-the-scenes content from L.A-Space, and one of my favorite things was seeing John, one of the founders, look at Lorna. In this particular clip, she just walked into frame wearing her robe, getting ready to film one of their usual Instagram posts, and the way he looked at her was just so sweet and adoring. It really showed their connection!
Lorna shared a heartwarming video and explained that instead of doing retakes, they simply kept the camera rolling during filming. She expressed her happiness that they made that choice, as it resulted in a collection of charming behind-the-scenes moments.
John received a diagnosis of a rare cancer in 2023. He went into remission, but unfortunately, the cancer came back in 2024 and spread to his brain.
Lorna was warned to expect a difficult time, but thankfully, he made it home to celebrate Christmas Day with Luxe. He passed away on February 11th.
The influencer first met John when she was 25 years old and working as a flight attendant for Virgin Atlantic. They later married in New York City and lived together in Hove, East Sussex, before moving to Horsham and then Warwickshire.
She revealed that she and her husband of 16 years maintained their relationship by each having their own bathroom at their country house. She shared this detail with her social media followers, wondering if it was unusual for couples to not share bathrooms.
‘Maybe this is why we’ve lasted so long. He’s not even allowed in my bathroom. Just kidding.’
She explained that one thing about their relationship has always stayed the same: he handles all the planning and arrangements, and she just needs to be there and look her best.
From the moment we met, he’s been incredibly sweet and attentive. I’m really happy with how he treats me. He’s always full of surprises – it’s amazing how John manages to get upgrades at hotels!
