Lords of the Fallen Sequel is Currently in Active Development, CI Games Confirms
As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement upon hearing about the upcoming sequel to Lords of the Fallen. Having battled my way through countless dark fantasy games, I’ve developed quite the knack for recognizing quality in this genre.
After the successful revamp of Lords of the Fallen in 2023, its publisher, CI Games, has announced that a new installment is currently being worked on, and once again, Hexworks will take the helm as developers for the upcoming sequel.
Based on a financial report released by CI Games, it’s been revealed that the game “Lords of the Fallen” has surpassed sales of over 1.3 million units since its release in October. This significant milestone has generated a substantial amount of income for the company.
Hexworks’ much-anticipated project, known as ‘Project III’, is now in full swing. It represents the next significant chapter in the Lords of the Fallen series and has been developed using Unreal Engine 5. The key principles for this sequel focus on broadening its appeal to both current and new players, offering expanded gameplay options and modes, and enhancing overall gameplay quality.
As a gaming enthusiast, I’m excited to share that the upcoming sequel of Lords of the Fallen is promised to offer a more commercial art style and engaging narrative, along with enhanced production values. Moreover, it will introduce a unique co-op experience where progression is shared among players, in addition to a robust single-player campaign. An official announcement is set for 2025, with the new game expected to hit shelves around 2026, as previously announced back in June.
