Lorde Spotted Looking Chilled in Balenciaga Polo and Jeans on NYC Stroll

New Zealand-born singer Lorde was seen out and about on the streets of Manhattan on Wednesday.

Outside New York’s Madison Square Garden, the 28-year-old artist, more commonly known as Lorde (real name Ella Yelich-O’Connor), was seen sporting a laid-back style in a Balenciaga polo shirt.

She matched the blue and red striped top with dark aqua jeans and a set of black flats.

With a black handbag casually slung on one shoulder, the renowned singer from the Royal family styled her long, dark tresses in a side parting. She adorned herself with elegant silver earrings, a necklace, and a matching bracelet.

For makeup, Lorde opted for a subdued style, sporting only a hint of blush on her cheeks and a delicate shade of pink lipstick.

As I strolled past an eager throng of sports enthusiasts huddled outside a venue, I couldn’t help but flash a grin, knowing that a highly-anticipated NBA matchup between the New York Knicks and the Detroit Pistons was about to commence.

After rocking Coachella alongside the fabulous Charli XCX earlier this month, I couldn’t wait to catch my idol, Lorde, live in New York City!

The best-selling musician has officially announced that her upcoming single titled “What Was That” will be released on April 25th, with her new album, anticipated for a 2025 release, coming after.

In February, they released a new single in the Māori language, which they produced together with fellow New Zealander Marlon Williams.

She took to her social media on to give fans a preview of the new tune called Kāhore He Manu E.

In the video, Lorde can be seen performing the gentle ballad in a studio.

The song appears on Williams, 34, new album Te Whare Tīwekaweka, which he recorded in Māori.

‘An honour to sing on Marlon’s beautiful waiata,’ she captioned her post.

She also shared a touching tribute to Williams in the Instagram share.

‘The love I have for our prodigal son knows no bounds—I consider him whanau,’ she began.

Watching Marly consistently push beyond her limits, discovering the boundaries of her capabilities and surpassing them time and time again, enriches my life.

‘Thank you for trusting me with this corner of your incredible album.’

I snuck this fantastic shot of myself nestled near Williams as we both dove deep into our creative process for the album in the studio – a moment I’ll cherish forever!

At the same time, Williams also expressed his gratitude to Lorde on Instagram and shared the source of inspiration behind the song that he has dedicated to a loved one.

‘It’s an absolute treat to be laying this one on your lap,’ he said.

This song is a brief, melodious composition that explores the challenges of maintaining relationships as they are pulled taut by the tension of distance and time.

Singing alongside Ella has been one of the sweetest experiences life has given me. This act is dedicated to the loving remembrance of my dear Nana, Rīpeka.”)

Lorde’s most recently-released album Solar Power made its debut in August of 2021.
