As I strolled through the bustling intersection of Flinders and Swanston Street in Melbourne, my eyes were drawn to a striking sight – a giant digital billboard displaying images of the renowned Kiwi singer, right above the legendary Young & Jackson pub. This unexpected announcement has certainly added a new layer of excitement to our city’s vibrant landscape!

The mysterious images that illuminated the dark heavens displayed dreamlike, lightly tinted scenes of Lorde, with the word “Ultrasound” included – an obvious reference to her forthcoming global tour and her new album titled “Virgin”.

The same promo was later spotted in Sydney, sparking a frenzy among fans.

Fan accounts swiftly responded on social media, as @lordeontour posted three urgent siren emojis, while another fan pleaded, “Praying for a Lorde concert in ADELAIDE.

After Lorde suggested there might be Australian and New Zealand stops added to her Ultrasound tour, even though they weren’t included in the initial announcement.

She playfully hinted during her latest interview, “Can you picture the consequences if I hadn’t? It wouldn’t be good, let me tell you, it wouldn’t be good.

‘Watch this space.’

Lorde’s latest album, “Virgin,” which dropped on June 27th, is currently earning rave reviews and financial success. It instantly took the top spot in Australia, New Zealand, and the UK, while it landed at the second position in the United States.

The artist hinted at more tunes on the horizon, disclosing that there are unpublished B-sides which were not part of the final Virgin album selection.

Last month, she treated fans to a sneak peek of the Ultrasound era during an unexpected performance at Glastonbury – marking her debut live show associated with the latest album.

The tour commences in Texas on September 17, moving through the United States, the United Kingdom, and Europe, and concludes in Sweden on December 9.

As a diehard fan, I’m beyond excited to share that the lineup of opening acts for Lorde’s tour is nothing short of extraordinary! Joining the phenomenal Lorde on stage will be Blood Orange, The Japanese House, Nilüfer Yanya, Empress Of, Chanel Beads, Jim-E Stack, and Oklou. These talented artists are sure to set the tone for an unforgettable musical journey!
