Loose Women turns 25! Current stars come together for a stunning silver-themed photo shoot to mark the ITV panel show’s anniversary
As I delve into Stacey Solomon’s journey, it’s clear that she’s a woman who wears many hats – television personality, brand ambassador, mother of five, and now, a wife. Her life seems to be a whirlwind of activities, from her frequent appearances on Loose Women to her role as a judge on Bake Off: The Professionals.
To honor its 25 years on air, the stars of “Loosely Women” gathered for an eye-catching photoshoot, themed in shades of silver to commemorate this special occasion.
On September 6, 1999, the ITV panel show made its debut, and to mark reaching the age of 25, popular figures like Denise Welch, Kelly Holmes, and Christine Lampard sported their most elegant silver outfits for a joint picture.
In the initial episode, former EastEnders actress Nadia Sawalha and journalist Jane Moore, two of the original cast members, were among those who made an appearance in the photos.
As an ardent admirer, I couldn’t help but notice that even in episode two, the captivating Ruth Langsford graced us with her presence while donning a stunning cap-sleeved wrap gown bedazzled with sparkles.
The TV series “Birds of a Feather” features Linda Robson, who joined the show permanently in 2012, and broadcast icon Janet Street-Porter, who celebrated her 1000th episode on the panel. For this special occasion, both ladies donned sparkling outfits.
Colleen Nolan raised her head joyfully when she decided to part ways with her well-known bang, which was about 24 years since she made her debut on the talk show.
In a friendly display, broadcast presenter Charlene White (who replaced Andrea McLean as the host in 2020 on I’m A Celebrity) gleamed while she snuggled close to musical theater artist Brenda Edwards.
Originally, Kaye Adams chose a sleek, high-necked dress in a deep charcoal color, whereas Denise captivated the audience in an intricately embellished gown featuring a daringly low neckline.
During the photo shoot, activist Katie wore a sleek, form-fitting metallic dress; former Casualty actress Sunetra Sarker opted for a blazer-style gown; and Love Island star Olivia Attwood showcased her physique in a tight, high-necked ensemble.
Comedian Judi Love, known for her humorous posts on Instagram that caught the show’s producers’ attention, adhered to the clean silver motif in a dress made of tulle and satin. This was matched by Frankie Bridge from The Saturdays, who chose a vibrant metallic pleated dress, both staying true to the theme.
In a sparkling, collarless dress, Christine Lampard radiated elegance, while Olympic champion Dame Kelly dazzled in a tightly-fitted, ruffly gown.
In the past, some well-known individuals have graced our screens, such as Jane McDonald, a former cruise ship vocalist who made a touching comeback, and Katie Price, who was a recurring guest from 2015 to 2018.
Additionally, a variety of previously sensitive topics have been broached, and notable personalities such as Britney Spears, Whoopi Goldberg, Ariana Grande, and Taylor Swift are among the many high-profile guests who have graced the show over time.
Loose Women editor Sally Shelford said: ‘Over the last 25 years, Loose Women has tackled taboos and talked about issues not openly discussed on television, including domestic abuse, menopause, miscarriage and grief.
In simpler terms, our audience, both in the studio and at home, have always felt like an integral part of our show, ‘The Loose Women’. We vow to continue discussing, sharing, and shedding light on significant topics such as these with our wonderful viewers.
However, one noticeable absence from the snap was Stacey Solomon, casting doubt on whether she will ever return to the ITV show after revealing her surprise career change earlier this summer.
Previously known for her singing, this individual has successfully transitioned into TV hosting and was just awarded her first National Television Award for the show “Sort Your Life Out.
Although Stacey has been a frequent guest on Loose Women over 350 times, her lone appearance this year was in June, with her last appearance being in December of 2023 before that.
As a loyal representative for In The Style during 2021, I’ve proudly taken on that role. However, I’ve decided it’s time to prioritize my family and have announced my intention to take a step back from this significant commitment.
Stacey, who has Zachary (16), Leighton (12) from past relationships, along with Rex (5), Rose (2), and 19-month-old Belle with Joe Swash, commented: ‘This year I’ve given much thought to the balance between work and family, and what should be given priority.’
2023 saw another brief appearance of Stacey on the show in November, marking a gap of around 18 months since she last appeared regularly, which coincidentally was seven months after she welcomed her youngest child into the world.
But by this time, she had already been featured as a judge on Bake Off: The Professionals , taking over from comedian Tom Allen.
Linda Robson, the sole co-star who attended Stacey’s Pickle Cottage wedding in 2022, told The Sun that Stacey, being a mother of five, is too occupied with multiple ongoing ventures to resume a full-time job.
She expressed a desire for her return, stating that she was an exceptional person on the show ‘Loose Women’, known for her sincerity. However, she believes she has too many commitments at the moment.
