Actress Nadia Sawalha from the show Loose Women is feeling incredibly sad due to the termination of one of her coworkers, following ITV’s recent rounds of layoffs.
Recently, ITV disclosed a significant shift in their daytime television schedule, which is expected to impact popular shows such as Loose Women, Lorraine, This Morning, and Good Morning Britain.
Starting in January 2026, the broadcasting location for these shows will change to a central London spot, and they’ll follow a revised airtime arrangement. This transformation will result in Loose Women returning to its former time of 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM, airing for 30 weeks on what we’ll call a “seasonal basis”.
In addition, the program is going to be without its live audience starting now, which means that comedian Lee Peart will no longer fill the role of the warm-up act, a job he’s held since 2017.
In a recent episode of their “Coffee Chatting” podcast, co-hosted with her partner Mark Adderley, Sawalha expressed her grief over the termination of her cherished friend, stating that she is still struggling to come to terms with this loss.

Starting from next year, there won’t be an audience for the show ‘Loose Women’. Hearing this news has left me completely heartbroken and I just can’t seem to move past it.
Apart from the fact that the audience plays a crucial role in our show, it’s equally significant to mention my daily collaborator, my friend Lee.
Besides the audience being essential for the success of our show, working alongside my good friend Lee is just as important on a day-to-day basis.

The adjustments at ITV will also shift the show “Lorraine” to a 30-week broadcast schedule. Each episode will air between 9:30 am and 10:00 am, whereas “This Morning” will still be aired from 10:00 am until 12:30 pm.
For every episode of “Good Morning Britain,” the broadcast duration will expand by 30 minutes, extending from 6:00 AM to 9:30 AM. During times when “Lorraine” isn’t airing, these episodes will be prolonged an additional 30 minutes.
Earlier, regarding the changes, Kevin Lygo, Head of ITV’s Media and Entertainment Department, acknowledged that their strategies may affect the crew members who work behind the scenes in the Daytime television production units.
Starting next year, I’ll be collaborating closely with ITV Studios and ITN as they revamp their show production methods. I’m excited to be part of this transformation, offering my support every step of the way during this transition phase.
The inaugural print magazine from Digital Spy, titled “British Comedy Legends,” is now available! You can purchase it at your local newsagent or online for only £3.99.
