Loose Women star issues health update after major surgery: “I thought I was going to die”

Linda Robson, a star of the show Loose Women, has shared news about her recovery after a major operation. She admitted she was extremely scared of dying during the surgery.

The actress, known for her roles in Birds of a Feather and Shine On Harvey Moon, had surgery after gallstones caused damage to her pancreas. She spent a total of 10 days in intensive care recovering.

She told The Sun she was incredibly scared while in intensive care, believing her life was in danger. Doctors had to remove most of her pancreas after discovering two tumors in a hard-to-reach location, and she also underwent a brain scan.

Seeing my children really helped me get through everything. They were at the hospital constantly, and they were such a support. She also said she felt much more self-assured after her recovery.

She explained that she needed to focus on her health for a while, but she’s feeling much better now. She’s recovering well and eager to enjoy life to the fullest. Now that she’s past her biggest challenges, she’s enjoying getting out and feels much more self-assured.

I remember when Robson first appeared on Loose Women way back in 2003! It’s amazing how long he’s been connected with the show. He became a regular panelist in 2012, and even after taking a couple of years off, he came back to ITV in 2020, which was great to see.

The actress has expressed her desire to appear on the BBC soap EastEnders. She revealed in February 2024 that a producer recently questioned why she hadn’t been on the show before.

I told him, ‘It’s because you never even asked!’ and he said they’d have to address that. Who knows what might happen? I think I’d actually be pretty good at it, don’t you think?

Last week’s episode of the ITV panel show looked a bit different – it was a special edition called Loose Men, made to support Mental Health Awareness Week.

Thursday’s show (May 14th) brought back Craig Doyle and Jeff Brazier to the panel, and also featured first-time appearances from Jordan Stephens and Spencer Matthews.

Loose Women airs on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
