Longlegs sets impressive new box-office record

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of gaming under my belt, I must say that Longlegs has left me utterly captivated and impressed. The film’s gripping storyline, masterful performances, and atmospheric tension have made it one of the most memorable cinematic experiences I’ve had in recent years.

I’m thrilled to share that the chilling horror-thriller Longlegs, featuring Maika Monroe and Nicolas Cage in lead roles, has broken records at the box office with its captivating performance.

In this film penned and helmed by Osgood Perkins, an FBI agent named Monroe pursues a notorious killer, referred to as The Rabbit Hole Killer, who has been horrifying the population of Oregon through a series of gruesome crimes.

Following its debut, the movie “Longlegs” garnered widespread praise for its captivating performances and suspenseful ambiance. It has also become popular with viewers, earning a total of $69.3 million at the worldwide box office. Notably, $58.6 million of this was earned in the US. The movie was made on a budget of just $10 million.

According to Variety, the movie has surpassed Neon’s previous record-holder, Parasite ($53.4 million), to become their highest-earning film in the country. Furthermore, Longlegs has now outperformed Talk to Me’s $48 million benchmark, making it the most financially successful independent horror movie in the U.S.

In a recent discussion, director Perkins, known for his work on the movie “Gretel & Hansel,” delved into the reasons behind the selection of the central serial killer’s name in the story. He revealed that this choice sparked a feeling of intrigue within him.
