
Elex Michaelson, a seasoned news anchor on KTTV’s evening and late-night broadcasts, is saying goodbye to the station.
A spokesperson from Fox Television Stations, the parent company of KTTV, verified that Michaelson has decided to leave, a decision that was described as friendly. August 15th marks his final day with the company.
Michaelson chose not to provide a statement regarding the matter. Individuals who are knowledgeable about his future plans but are not permitted to speak publicly confirmed that the news anchor is moving on to another job.
Michaelson, who is 38 years old, has been a part of our Los Angeles branch since 2017. He frequently co-hosts the 5 p.m., 10 p.m., and 6 p.m. newscasts alongside Christine Devine and Maria Tellez respectively.
Apart from being a guest on various television stations, Michaelson additionally serves as both the host and producer of the statewide political talk show titled “The Issue Is.” This program is broadcast not only on KTTV but also across multiple TV stations scattered across the state.
Previously, he had experience working at KABC-TV in Los Angeles, a Disney-owned station, and XETV in San Diego. His initial role in the broadcasting industry was as an intern at KTTV. This individual hails from Agoura Hills.

Michaelson is quite popular within LA’s media community. Part of this popularity stems from the affection people have for his mother’s homemade treats, which she prepares every Thursday and distributes during the filming of “The Issue Is” on Fridays.

Michaelson has earned a total of eight Local Emmys, seven Golden Mics, and six awards from the L.A. Press Club, one of which was Television Journalist of the Year.
At KTTV, Michaelson was responsible for arranging and co-chairing debates involving candidates for California governor, U.S. senator, Los Angeles mayor, Los Angeles county sheriff, and numerous congressional elections. Additionally, he provided coverage of national political affairs for the station.
