London-set spy show with “edge-of-the-seat thrills” shares exciting new-season update
London-set spy thriller The Agency has received some big new updates for its second season.
The filming for the second season of the Michael Fassbender series, debuted last year, is now underway in London.
It’s also received a new name, going by The Agency: Central Intelligence.
What to Read Next
Central Intelligence” focuses on Martian (Fassbender), a CIA agent who leads a secret life as his own cover. Desperate to rescue Samia, his lover who is imprisoned politically in Sudan, he’s willing to cross any line, including acts of betrayal.
The solution lies in going even further. A Martian on a tightrope must tread carefully if he hopes to preserve love, survival, and his endeavor.
Further details are scarce at the moment, but what we can confirm is that the cast for this production features Michael Fassbender, Jeffrey Wright, Jodie Turner-Smith, Katherine Waterston, Harriet Sansom Harris, John Magaro, Saura Lightfoot-Leon, Andrew Brooke, India Fowler, Reza Brojerdi, Alex Reznik, and Richard Gere, who all reprise their roles from the first season.
Writers and executive producers Jez and John-Henry Butterworth are also back on writing duties.
In the first season of “The Agency”, there was a blend of opinions among critics, with a rating of 67% approval based on 41 reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.
Critics who found the show appealing described it as “expertly balanced in its mood,” “cold, intricate, and utterly captivating,” and offering “nail-biting suspense.
This year, Fassbender shared that he had proposed Daniel Craig for the role of James Bond – a part Craig eventually secured successfully.
In a chance encounter, I had a meeting with Barbara Broccoli. Later on, I participated in a selection process, but that was prior to Daniel Craig being chosen for the role. However, I don’t believe I was seriously considered for the part.
however, I recall entering that particular room to meet with both her and Michael G Wilson, and it seems I found myself saying something along the lines of, “Daniel Craig is…” I can’t quite figure out why I was advocating for him. It would’ve been wiser of me to advocate for myself instead.
You can currently stream the first season of “The Agency: Central Intelligence” on Paramount+. Production for season 2 is underway.
