As a long-time fan of the quirky and action-packed world of Lollipop Chainsaw, hearing about the upcoming remastered version, Lollipop Chainsaw RePop, is like finding a lost treasure! Having grown up playing games from Grasshopper Manufacture, I’ve always had a soft spot for their unique blend of humor and brutal gameplay.
In simple terms, Dragami Games has revealed that the revamped edition of the 2012 action game “Lollipop Chainsaw RePop,” originally developed by Grasshopper Manufacture, is scheduled for release on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in December.
The game will be available on older console formats, and its success has surprised even its parent company ‘Extreme’, as they’ve recently revised their sales projection (as reported by Gamebiz) to ¥11 billion ($74 million), with a projected net profit of ¥1.08 billion ($6.9 million). This is a substantial increase from the earlier anticipated profits of ¥710 million ($4.6 million).
The surge in sales of Lollipop Chainsaw RePop, exceeding 100,000 units within the first week, is attributed to its success. Since the game is available on last-generation platforms, it’s likely that these sales figures will increase substantially. Furthermore, the launch of RePop on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 will include a free skin for all versions as an added bonus.
The “Pin-Up Girl Outfit” is coming as a complimentary addition to the game in an upcoming update. Additionally, Dragami Games has mentioned that the Xbox One and PS4 versions of RePop will support 1080p resolution at 30fps or more. Unfortunately, pre-orders aren’t being offered, but those who get in early can enjoy some special “advance purchase benefits”.
The game “Lollipop Chainsaw RePop” is set to arrive on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on December 2nd for a price of $44.99. Cross-platform, you’ll receive the free Pin-Up Girl Outfit for Juliet. On Xbox, it will offer Smart Delivery support.
