GAM Esports and Fukuoka SoftBank HAWKS Gaming: Who is the next Asian god?
As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but be thrilled about GAM Esports, a Vietnamese powerhouse with a decade-long history in the League of Legends competitive scene. Comprising a squad of pure Vietnamese talent, their 2024 has been nothing short of unforgettable. Their triumph at the VCS has given them an indescribable surge of energy and self-assurance, propelling them onto the Worlds 2024 stage with an air of invincibility.
For the past five years, the Fukuoka SoftBank HAWKS Gaming team, often simply referred to as the HAWKS, has been a force in the esports world. This team was initially established by its namesake Japanese baseball team. The HAWKS secured their spot at Worlds 2024 by making it to the PCS Summer Final. In the League of Legends Japan League (LJL), the HAWKS are consistently found in top positions.
Match recap: GAM Esports vs. Fukuoka SoftBank HAWKS Gaming
Match 1
On the second day of Play-Ins, the opening match kicked off robustly, marking the initial Aurora of Worlds 2024. The team HAWKS got off to a solid start, scoring the first blood, although it was their support who claimed the kill. Additionally, they secured a jungle kill. In response, GAM retaliated, with the subsequent kills again going to the supports of both teams.
Hawks entered the match with a clear intention to dominate, snatching Shyvana’s blue buff and ensuing kills that ignited their enthusiasm, leading to an unnecessary skirmish which benefited Easylove from GAM with a double kill. This incident gave GAM an edge, capitalizing on Hawks’ errors. Nonetheless, the Japanese team was filled with confidence, and Lucian played by DasheR was exceptionally powerful, keeping the game within reach for Hawks.
Despite their efforts, the opponents were mistaken in underestimating Levi’s impact. His relentless presence, seemingly everywhere at once, was reminiscent of a divine force from Vietnam. An unstoppable demon on the field, he wreaked havoc that left the team, HAWKS, struggling to recover. In the end, it was GAM who emerged victorious in the first game.
Match 2
Hawks’ loss didn’t elicit smiles in Japan, but it didn’t deter them from delivering another exceptional League of Legends performance. Vsta, feeling his adrenaline surge, ignited a thrilling battle that had fans on the edge of their seats. However, GAM’s Aurora managed to secure three kills amidst the intense fight.
As a gamer, I felt the overwhelming presence of the HAWKS’ backing, reaching out to anyone they could assist. Despite DasheR playing exceptionally well with LeBlanc, it wasn’t enough to counter the unimaginable harm Aurora was dishing out. Kiaya’s moves against our enemy team were simply mind-blowing.
GAM dominated the match. Aurora played flawlessly, showing immense determination, bravery, even boldness. In the beginning, GAM Esports didn’t play their best, but they always managed to pull through hardships and claim victory. Kiaya’s involvement in team fights was more than HAWKS could handle. It’s time for GAM! They won again!
Wait a while to find out who GAM Esports’ next competitors will be: is it 100 Thieves or Movistar Rainbow7? Keep up with all the updates about this match on Xpsp!
Next game
100 Thieves will face off against Movistar Rainerow7 in the second match of the day, scheduled for 8 a.m. Pacific Time or 5 p.m. Central European Summer Time. Will it be 100 Thieves who emerge victorious? Stay tuned for further developments.
