LoL Wild Rift patch note 6.1 preview: Gameplay updates, Garen rework, and more

Wild Rift Patch Note 6.1 Preview, covering both gameplay and mage update details.

The approaching major update 6.1 for League of Legends: Wild Rift is nearly here, bringing a host of exciting changes to disrupt your gaming experience. Fresh events, champions, cosmetic items, and improvements are imminent in the mobile game. However, let’s discuss what we can anticipate from the patch note 6.1 sneak peek video. Let’s dive in!

New champions

Three champions – Ryze, Nocturne, and Zilean – are set to make their debut on the Rift. Faker officially unveiled Ryze in a stylish reveal within the Wild Rift patch note video. Nocturne will appear much like his League of Legends counterpart, but Zilean’s kit will undergo minor adjustments. In the Wild Rift version, Zilean has received an increase in damage to enhance his combat abilities.

Garen and Ambessa’s rework

Currently, we have two major updates lined up: for Garen from Demacia, who’s been with us since day one, and Ambessa. It’s high time that our veteran champion, Garen, gets some attention and undergoes modifications in his abilities and gameplay mechanics.

In the second skill, Courage, he’ll gain increasing shield strength and present slightly altered visuals when activated. Furthermore, his third ability, Judgment, will inflict greater damage and lower the armor of his adversaries. The development team will disclose additional information as we approach the live launch of his update.

Despite Ambessa recently earning the title of champion, the development team has chosen to tweak certain elements of her kit. In upcoming patch cycles, some of the power she’s been demonstrating as a jungler, particularly in the Baron lane, will undergo changes.

This implies that the development team plans to adjust certain aspects of her stats, decrease her ability to inflict damage on monsters, and boost her life steal and resistance to being displaced in specific skills. Similar to Garen, further information about these changes will be disclosed shortly.

Gameplay updates in Wild Rift

In the upcoming changes for Wild Rift, expect several gameplay enhancements. For instance, while playing, you might encounter Enchanted Presents scattered around. Grabbing these presents gives you an active skill that can activate various effects. These portals are designed to inject some exciting surprises into your laning phase. Both teams will have a good number of these presents available.

Additionally, improving the clarity of buffs was a key focus in this update. Instead of waiting to evolve after being killed and respawning, the Red and Blue buffs will now transform as soon as their evolution time elapses.

In the update detailed in Patch Note 6.0, the portals mentioned will receive an upgrade as well. To enhance safety and effectiveness, Wild Rift plans to adjust the positions of these portals. This modification aims to provide better support to your team while ensuring that the allied jungle portals cannot be misused by enemies.

To round things off, the Ixtali Sand Scorpion will undergo some modifications too. They plan to tweak its mechanics to make it a more evenly fought-over objective, rather than a clear advantage for one side. Additionally, they aim to decrease its influence slightly when it comes to tower destruction.

Mages updates

In the previous update, we primarily concentrated on enhancing support champions. However, in the upcoming patch note 6.1 for Wild Rift, there will also be adjustments made to mage characters. Given the introduction of Ryze and Zilean into the roster of playable champions, it became essential to introduce new items as well.

The Ionian Boots of Lucidity and Boots of Mana will now have a new passive ability. With each attack you make on minions, whether it’s an auto-attack or an active skill, they will inflict extra damage that increases according to your character level. This slight boost can aid Mages in clearing lanes more swiftly and finding chances to move around the map more efficiently.

New items

  • Hextech GLP8000 will launch frost bombs that explode when hitting the first enemy and cause magic damage to all enemies hit. Additionally, the foe that is hit by this will be slowed by 65%, and the slow will decay in 2 seconds. This can be used to help you push out your lanes even faster or slow down that pesky other champ you’re trying to hunt down and kill.
  • Bandle Fantasy will turn your mages into damage-dealing powerhouses. When you use abilities that cause damage to enemies, a warning area will appear under your foe’s feet, causing a small-scale explosion of damage after a short delay. If your ability hits multiple champions at the same time, there will be multiple area explosions that will be generated at the feet of each of your foes.
  • And lastly, Malignance. Whenever you use your ultimate and it does damage to an enemy, it will ignite the ground under your foe’s feet for 3 seconds, causing 60 (+5% Ability Power) magic damage per second and 10 magic resistance reduction to any enemies within the burning range.

Move speed adjustments

In the upcoming patch, not only are new items and improvements being made for Mages, but their movement speed will be boosted as well. The aim is to enhance the mage’s capacity for kiting and roaming more effectively throughout the game without relying excessively on items. Here is a list of all the Mages that will receive these updates:
