Lizzo flaunts her 60lb weight loss and flashes her cleavage in a daring sheer plunging gown as she hits the red carpet at the Vanity Fair Oscars party

Lizzo showcased her impressive 60-pound weight loss and a revealing outfit—a sheer, low-cut dress—at the Vanity Fair Oscars after-party on Sunday.

The artist previously shared that she’s been focusing on health and wellness, and by early 2025, she had lost around 60 pounds, which represented 16% of her body fat.

The Grammy-winning singer, 37, posed in a ruffled brown gown that highlighted her ample assets.

She completed her look with simple suede heels and accessorised with large gold hoop earrings.

Lizzo also debuted her shorted blonde hair as she commanded attention at the star-studded event.

For the past three years, the celebrity has been sharing updates about her health on social media.

In November 2025, Lizzo wrote an article on Substack responding to criticism about changes to her body and her focus on health, especially considering her long-held image as a champion of body positivity.

Lizzo explained that her focus wasn’t on becoming ‘thin,’ and she doesn’t believe that’s a realistic goal for her body type.

I’ll always bear the marks of carrying a lot – physically and emotionally – and I’m proud of that, even if society doesn’t approve.

She also shared in the essay about what led her to start focusing on her health and well-being in 2023.

I remember her describing how incredibly low she felt after that awful scandal. She told me she was severely depressed and, heartbreakingly, had deeply suicidal thoughts. It was a really dark time for her, and she was very open about how much she suffered.

She was talking about the lawsuit filed by her previous backup dancers, who accused her of sexual harassment, body-shaming, and creating a toxic work environment. She has strongly denied all of these allegations.

Lizzo explained that her weight loss journey began during a period when she was struggling with negative self-image and wasn’t taking good care of herself.

You know, I often talk about how focusing on wellness, not just weight loss, can be so transformative. This woman I was speaking with recently shared something really insightful. She realized her initial weight loss wasn’t about dieting, but a byproduct of finally addressing some deeper issues in therapy. And that realization – that it wasn’t about just the number on the scale – actually sparked a genuine desire to take care of herself, and lose weight in a healthy, mindful way. It’s a beautiful example of how inner work can truly manifest outwardly.

She described her weight as something that kept her safe and comfortable, like a suit of armor, but ultimately she wanted to let go of it.

Lizzo later explained that a woman should be free to change if she wants to.

She clarified that she wanted to focus on improving her body image, but still identifies as and is proud of being a larger-sized woman.

‘And I love myself as I’ve loved myself no matter what the scale says.’

Thirty-six-year-old Irish actress Jessie Buckley won the award, defeating nominees Rose Byrne, Kate Hudson, Renate Reinsve, and Emma Stone.
