This year, we’ve reached the 76th Primetime Emmy Awards, and I assure you, it’s not a mirage: In reality, just eight months have passed since the ceremony, which was postponed due to the strike, took place in January. During that event, “Succession,” “Beef,” and “The Bear” were the standout winners.
Tonight’s award ceremony is set to be competitive with FX’s “The Bear” likely doing well again, despite not being considered a comedy by many. However, this year’s nominees feature several new or previously underrated titles such as the opulent historical drama “Shōgun” on FX and the assassin series “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” on Prime Video. It is expected that both FX and Netflix will take home a number of awards, but there are several intriguing questions to consider: Will Jodie Foster win her first Emmy for her work in HBO’s “True Detective: Night Country”?
