Lisa Wilkinson and Peter FitzSimons buy massive $15 million Mosman penthouse compared to ‘castle’

Popular media personalities Lisa Wilkinson and Peter FitzSimons have purchased a beautiful penthouse apartment with waterfront views on Sydney’s lower north shore.

The couple is said to have purchased a luxurious apartment in Mosman for over $15 million. The four-bedroom, two-bathroom property is on the top floor of a historic building.

Oh my gosh, you guys, it’s just… breathtaking! It’s this incredible old building, made of sandstone, and it’s totally from World War I! But the best part? It’s perched right on this cliff overlooking Sydney Harbour. Seriously, the views are unreal – you can see everything! I could stare at it all day, honestly. It’s just… perfect.

This sale follows Wilkinson and FitzSimons recently selling their home in nearby Cremorne for around $23 million.

The recent purchase follows the penthouse being listed for sale in February with a price between $15 and $16.5 million.

I read in The Sunday Telegraph that Wilkinson and FitzSimons managed to snag the property for what seems like a really good deal – they paid towards the lower end of the estimated price range, which was already pretty high! It’s amazing they got it for that price, honestly.

This top-floor apartment, known as ‘The Castle,’ is located in a highly desirable area of Sydney, about 9 kilometers from the city center, on Curraghbeena Point.

This penthouse boasts stunning water views thanks to its floor-to-ceiling windows and spacious, open layout.

The home boasts a spacious, contemporary kitchen with a convenient butler’s pantry. It also includes a private office that could easily be converted into a fourth bedroom, and a wet bar for entertaining.

The main bedroom takes up an entire corner of the large apartment and includes a luxurious bathroom with heated floors, as well as a private, covered balcony.

One of the best features of the property is its rooftop, which includes a Teppanyaki grill, a secluded kitchen tucked away in a turret, and an outdoor bathtub.

Oh my gosh, you guys, it was built way back in 1914! And it’s this incredible building – seriously, it has a stone turret! It only has six apartments, which is perfect, and the residents get this amazing, huge garden. But get this – it also has a private jetty and…wait for it…a secret cave! I’m absolutely obsessed with it, it’s like something out of a dream!

After several months on the market and a failed auction, Wilkinson and FitzSimons have finally sold their large Sydney home.

So, I was hearing that this high-profile couple put their Cremorne home on the market back in August, hoping for around $24.5 million. Unfortunately, it didn’t sell at auction – they didn’t get the price they were looking for. It’s a reminder that even in a hot market, pricing is everything!

Despite getting over 45,000 views on realestate.com.au when it was first listed, the property didn’t initially generate much serious buyer interest.

In 1998, the couple bought the historic home, called Ingleneuk, for only $2.95 million. If it sells for anywhere close to the asking price, they stand to make a remarkable profit of over $20 million.

This six-bedroom house, originally built in 1903 and beautifully renovated, offers stunning harbour views and sits on a large 3,125 square meter block. It features a tennis court, heated pool, and well-maintained gardens.

The buyers also purchased the two adjacent properties, restoring the estate to its original footprint and gaining the highly desirable feature of access from two streets. This makes the property one of the most sought-after locations on the Lower North Shore.

The couple has welcomed many famous Australians to their home over the years, such as Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and actor Hugh Jackman.

This Edwardian-era mansion boasts stunning views of the harbor and city, and still has all of its original, beautiful details, like its distinctive overhanging eaves.
