Lisa Riley has shared her true sentiments following a playful remark made by Peter Kay during his performance in Manchester last weekend.

On his current £27 million tour titled “Better Late Than Never Again!”, Peter found himself needing the assistance of security personnel to remove an individual who persistently shouted, “garlic bread,” during last Saturday’s performance.

Later on, a woman who shouted “We love you, Peter!” was told to leave by the comedian himself. Some spectators alleged that he made an unkind joke about the woman’s weight, comparing her to Lisa.

On Tuesday morning, Lisa spoke about the recent event on her Instagram, clarifying that she didn’t find it offensive.

After ejecting three disruptive spectators from his performance, Peter finally spoke up, asserting that they had been ruining the enjoyment of the show for everyone else.

As a lifestyle expert, I’d rephrase that statement as follows: “At age 51, I find there comes a time when it’s unfair to my audience who have invested in seeing me perform, and I stand by my actions of addressing an attendee, specifically Emmerdale actress Lisa Riley, before asking her to leave the venue. During an interview on ITV, he stated, “I hadn’t realized it was considered an insult. It just so happened that she bore a striking resemblance to Lisa Riley; I had no idea that was offensive.

They mentioned that the remainder of his statement said, ‘At some stage, responding continuously to disruptive individuals is insufficient. It’s a situation nobody desires to be in, but it eventually reaches a point where it’s unfair to those nearby.’

Supporters applauded the comedian for ejecting disruptive audience members during his performance on Saturday evening, as they felt these intoxicated individuals were ruining the event.

A nearby spectator, seated not far from the troublemakers, asserted that they both were entirely deserving of being ejected. This statement was greeted with enthusiastic applause by those in the vicinity.

Jo Llewellyn informed TopMob, “That individual who was asked to leave certainly earned it. He was already heavily intoxicated prior to the event starting, and he became increasingly disruptive throughout the performance.

For the individuals sitting near him, he disrupted the performance. As for the woman situated a few rows back, those around her expressed that she caused inconvenience and disturbed the show for others.

I’m pleased that Peter made a bold move by kicking them out since their actions were ruining the show for many viewers… It seems odd that some people would be upset about the hecklers leaving if they were cheering so enthusiastically when they were escorted out, doesn’t it?

During the performance at Manchester AO Arena on Saturday evening, some attendees chose to depart following Mr. Kay’s instruction to brighten the venue when his joke about kidney stones was disrupted for the third time by a heckler.

When the spotlight illuminated, I found myself instinctively claiming a seat on that very stage, urging my trusted guardians to swiftly escort away the individual along with his companions – all according to the whispers shared by a reliable insider at TopMob.

According to onlookers, at this juncture, the man and his son reportedly became extremely aggressive towards the security personnel.

The man was then taken out by four security guards – ‘one on each leg and one on each arm’.

One audience member stated that it wasn’t about guiding him out, but rather about forcibly taking him away from the area.

After the men left the stadium, the lady seated near them called out, “We adore you, Peter!” He then inquired, “Did we have a drink?”

Upon exiting the arena, the men were cheered by a woman behind them with a heartfelt “We love you, Peter!” To which he playfully questioned, “Did we share a round?

After that, the 52-year-old comedian asked his security personnel to escort a woman away from the audience as well. Addressing her, he said, “Alright, you can leave now, Lisa Riley,” referencing the famous actress and comedian from Emmerdale.

Meanwhile, some people criticized Mr. Kay for adopting a harsh and sour attitude towards hecklers, but those seated near the noisy group cheered in approval of his choice.

Another audience member said: ‘I was seated near the people, and they were a pain in the backside.

They were repeatedly requested to keep quiet since the elderly individuals close by had difficulty hearing due to their constant laughter over the phrase “garlic bread.” This request was made multiple times, not just on one occasion.

1. “Everyone applauded once he eliminated that issue, and Peter handled it in a way uniquely his own. I believe he delivered exactly what we desired; it was something we had been anticipating for nearly two years.”

4. “We all clapped at the resolution of the problem, and Peter managed it in a manner distinct to him. In my opinion, he fulfilled what we were expecting; it was something that we’d waited over two years to see.”

5. “With his own style, Peter handled the issue, and everyone cheered once it was resolved. I think he provided us with the outcome we had been longing for; it was a moment we had been anticipating for around two years.”

A third said: ‘My daughter was at that show and was glad that the people shouting were removed.

Peter Kay inquired whether the noisy individuals were bothering the rest of the audience initially, and the audience responded affirmatively, confirming that they were.

Instead of continuously shouting “Garlic bread,” which wasn’t light-hearted banter, it was disruptive and inappropriate. Kudos to Peter Kay for organizing such an event, as the audience had paid a considerable amount for their tickets and had waited patiently for two long years.

People seated at a distance from the rowdy audience members had a less favorable opinion of Mr. Kay’s behavior, which they described as an “outburst.” They also criticized his performance, saying it was subpar.

A different lady (choosing to stay unidentified) shared that Mr. Kay appeared to be in a less than favorable disposition right from the start, as she observed during the live recording of the program.

She shared with TopMob that from the beginning, he appeared to be in a somewhat grumpy state, but she couldn’t figure out why. His delivery of humor seemed unusual compared to the past; instead of focusing solely on the joke, he would often veer off into unrelated topics.

The humor was excessively vulgar and explicit; I wasn’t prepared for the frequent references to male anatomy and sexuality. I found it surprising given that it was marketed as a family show, with attendees ranging from teenagers to senior citizens. It didn’t seem like everyone anticipated such content.

If you’re seeking humor with a more adult edge, there are other performers you might want to check out. But if you’re planning to watch Peter Kay, you should know it’s a clean, suitable-for-all event.

In all honesty, when Mr. Kay chose to eject those rowdy spectators, it pushed me, along with my companion, over the edge. We found ourselves compelled to walk out of the show right then and there.

The individual who previously yelled “Garlic bread” did so on two separate occasions, with Peter participating each time. Later, he came back and made a humorous comment about kidney stones, as an additional detail.

After that, the man yelled out “Garlic bread!” and Peter called out, “Nick, Nick, turn on the lights.” The place became brightly illuminated, and they ordered the security personnel to remove him from there.

Instead of immediately addressing the situation himself when it started to bother him, he could have simply informed his staff during the brief interlude that the man was becoming disruptive and asked them to handle it. However, he chose not to do so.

Rather than hiding, he performed it openly for all spectators to see. A hint of bewilderment was evident on his face as he questioned if they were genuinely sincere.

Later on, Mr Kay requested that the lady be escorted out, addressing her as “Lisa Riley.” This Lisa Riley is a well-recognized figure for playing Mandy Dingle in the ITV soap opera Emmerdale. Moreover, she has been vocal about her personal struggle with weight and has successfully lost 12 stones over the past few years.

It came after Peter Kay was pictured ahead of the tour having lost a great deal of weight himself.

The woman found it excessively rude when he called her ‘Lisa Reilly’. It seemed unnecessary to address her in such a manner. However, when she responded with “We love you Peter”, it wasn’t disrespectful, but she was still asked to leave.

1. It was incredibly rude towards that lady. There was absolutely no reason for identifying her as Lisa Reilly, leading to her dismissal from the program. I find it utterly illogical. (Word count: 52)

Initially, I shared the same fondness for Peter Kay as many others, but if that truly represents him, I find it regrettable.

I couldn’t help but think, ‘What’s going on here?’ It’s almost unrecognizable – the change in him. The man I used to admire, the one who seemed so genuine, appears to have transformed.

People had shelled out nearly £200 for the chance to attend Mr. Kay’s eagerly anticipated return tour, and a lot of them also spent additional sums on travel and lodging expenses.

James Featherstone, a resident of Harrogate, Yorkshire, went to the event accompanied by his wife and daughter.

Even though he’s been an admirer of Mr. Kay since the 1990s, the show and the comic’s handling of hecklers ended up falling short of his expectations.

He informed TopMob saying, “Initially, when we purchased the tickets, there was a great deal of anticipation, high hopes, and enthusiasm. However, on the actual evening itself, it became apparent right from the start that he didn’t seem to be his usual self.

I had thought that he would strictly perform his original content, avoiding others’, and if he found something lacking, he wouldn’t share it. However, this performance didn’t seem to match his style. Some of the humor felt familiar, as if I had heard those jokes years ago from different comedians.

In another words, what stands out about those who disrupt with garlic bread comments, is that if you constantly hear the same famous tagline shouted at you daily – one that has earned you a fortune in the millions – it can become quite tiresome.

It surprised me that just three or four shouts seemed quite low compared to what I anticipated. I don’t believe the individual who made those shouts was at fault.

As an utterly devoted admirer, I can’t help but express my dismay at Peter Kay’s response. Instead of escalating the situation, he could’ve asked those individuals to depart gracefully. Four individuals physically removing one person seemed excessive and lacked the necessary dignity.

Initially, there was some confusion as to whether Peter Kay was joking or not about being asked to leave. What actually happened was that he had to be physically escorted out of the place.

Additionally, Mr. Featherstone pointed out that it was inconsistent of Mr. Kay to label the woman as Lisa Riley. Furthermore, he expressed that the remark wasn’t amusing at all.

Mr. Kay’s longtime admirer commented that while the comedian had consistently been a “perfect 10,” this particular performance seemed closer to a “6 out of 10.

A person who went to the Manchester stop of his massive return tour over the weekend posted online: “I have significantly less admiration for Peter Kay now, due to how he handled a heckler during the end of his Manchester performance on February 8th.

They forcibly escorted him away, and during those three or four minutes, they joked about the incident.

‘No manners. Huge waste of money.’

In a surprising turn of events, the massive concert tour was attributed to Mr. Kay’s prominent position on the 2024 wealth ranking, largely due to his successful residency tour that is speculated to have earned a staggering £27 million.

Tickets to the comic’s gig cost an average of £59.70 in comparison to Michael’s £43.35 tickets.

In November 2024, Mr. Kay revealed 21 upcoming performance dates, starting from February 2025 and continuing through to February 2026, where his show is scheduled to conclude.

Initially, Pete Kay Live began in December 2022, and the updated schedule takes him to sixteen different cities throughout an entire year.

In the upcoming tours scheduled for 2025 and 2026, you’ll find his debut performances slated for Aberdeen P&J Live, Brighton Centre, Bournemouth International Centre, and Isle of Man’s Villa Marina.
