Lisa Riley and Peter Kay: No Hard Feelings After Controversial Comedy Show Incident!

It’s clear that Lisa Riley and Peter Kay have moved past any potential tension following his recent incident where he removed a female audience member from his performance, likening her to a soap star.

At the age of 48, the actress went to see the comedian’s most recent stand-up performance at the First Direct Arena in Leeds. Following the show, she took photos with him.

Apart from the photos she posted on X, Lisa expressed her gratitude as follows: A huge thank you, Peter, for an absolutely incredible evening at @fdarena.

1. “We couldn’t stop laughing, it was so funny! The show had us in stitches and kept us awake past midnight as we shared every joke. It doesn’t get any better than this Northern gem! You truly excel at what you do. I adore you!”

2. “The show was a riot, making us laugh until it hurt! We stayed up late, still giggling over the jokes long after midnight. This northern production is simply top-notch! Keep doing what you’re doing; your talents shine brightly.”

3. “What an absolute hoot that show turned out to be! It had us rolling with laughter until our sides ached, and we were up way past bedtime recounting the jokes. This northern production is simply the cream of the crop! You continue to impress me with your exceptional talent.”

4. “The show was a non-stop laugh fest that left us in stitches and kept us awake past midnight! We couldn’t get enough of the jokes, and this northern production truly outshines the rest. Keep up the fantastic work; you are simply the best of the best! Love ya!”

In her initial television appearance, the woman who was dismissed from Peter’s performance and drew comparisons to Lisa stated that the comedian had made her feel deeply embarrassed or ashamed.

25-year-old Myar Curran, who shared her thoughts regarding the incident during an interview on Good Morning Britain in February, expressed that she has no intention of ever watching the comedian again.

After labeling Kay as a “bully” earlier this week for likening me to an Emmerdale actress, I’ve found myself in a situation where I was accused of being targeted due to my weight. Here’s my take on the situation from my perspective as a lifestyle expert.

In the world of public figures, it’s important to remember that everyone has unique qualities and attributes that make them who they are. Comparisons can often be made, but they should always be done with respect and understanding. In this case, I believe that both parties could have handled the situation more gracefully, focusing on the shared aspects of our work rather than our physical appearances.

Let’s promote a culture of inclusivity and kindness in the public eye, where everyone feels valued for their talents, efforts, and contributions, not just their physical attributes. That’s my advice as a lifestyle expert!

During my enthusiastic participation at the AO Arena in Manchester on Saturday, I found myself joining in with the crowd as Myar exclaimed, “We adore you, Peter!” However, my exuberance was short-lived, as security promptly escorted me out of the venue.

Leaving the stage, the 51-year-old comedian called out to the person escorting her: “Alright, head out now, Lisa Riley!” (or simply “Off you go, Lisa Riley!”)

On the ITV show this past Friday, I found myself in an unexpected situation. I didn’t intend to hurt anyone, quite the contrary; I was merely expressing my affection in a way that unfortunately didn’t resonate well with another individual. It seems he took offense to my actions when I asked someone to step away, which was never my intention.

She expressed that her words didn’t come across as abusive, aggressive, or antisocial, and she also clarified that she wasn’t under the influence of alcohol.

I had just been expressing my admiration with a cheer of “We adore you, Peter!”, but it seemed like he took it a little too far with his response.

Myar stated that she won’t be waiting for an apology from Kay, instead, she made a promise not to watch any more of his work or attend future performances.

During a recent conversation with Manchester Evening News, Myar expressed her displeasure, stating that the remark about Lisa Riley was perceived as an offensive comment about her body weight.

‘I do feel he was on about my weight,’ the mother-of-one said.

‘I know Lisa Riley has lost a lot of weight and looks great but she used to be a bit bigger.

‘I didn’t used to be this big, I have put a bit of weight on, I’ve had a child.

At the large venue with a capacity of 23,000, Myar, a caregiver, was deeply moved by the audience’s response, causing her to weep. Upon returning to her hotel room, she had a moment of emotional release and shed tears over the experience.

‘It was just a very rubbish situation. My whole family was disgusted by it.’ she said.

‘It was like he was trying to get the crowd against me – it just wasn’t nice, to be honest.’

As Kay firmly stood by his choice to remove the disruptive spectators, he pointed out that they were spoiling the performance for the other attendees.

I put forth my utmost effort to handle the matter with humor, much like a comedian might do, but alas, they kept interrupting me persistently.

After attempting to overlook them, I hoped their disturbance would subside on its own. However, when the commotion continued throughout the first half of the performance, I turned to the spectators nearby and inquired whether they were disturbed by the noise.

For quite some time, Myar has been an avid follower of the comedian originally from Bolton. Accompanied by her father, aunt, best friend, and boyfriend, she made a trip from Scotland specifically to attend this show.

She had been excited to see Kay live for the first time and was wearing a zebra-print top.

Myar shared, ‘A few years back, I sadly lost my mother. She had planned to attend this event, making it an incredibly meaningful moment for us.’

During a concert’s second half, two individuals, Philip Peters (aged 54) and his son (age 26), were unexpectedly asked to leave the venue. This occurred after Philip vocalized the phrase “garlic bread” amidst the crowd.

In a similar location, yet not associated with Mr. Peters, an individual named Myar exclaimed that she was subsequently asked to leave after yelling, “We adore you, Peter!”

Or, more casually:
Myar, who wasn’t with Mr. Peters, shouted, “We love you, Peter!” in the same spot. Later, she was asked to vacate the area for doing so.

On Monday, actress Lisa hit back at Kay in a cryptic Instagram post about the incident.

After Peter made some unpleasant remarks during his performance, she shared a uplifting quote about finding the positive aspects of life.

We could grumble about the thorns on rose bushes, or we could be happy that there are roses to go with them.

Consider finding positivity in life, instead of automatically focusing on the negatives. It truly makes living a more straightforward and gratifying experience. #Grateful #Gratitude #NoComplaining #PositiveThinking
