As a devoted fan of Lisa Marie Presley, I can’t help but feel a profound mix of admiration and heartache as I delve into her extraordinary yet tragically tumultuous life story. A child born into royalty with the weight of an iconic legacy on her shoulders, Lisa Marie’s journey is one that mirrors the highs and lows of a classic rock ‘n’ roll ballad – filled with love, loss, addiction, redemption, and resilience.

In a memoir set for posthumous release by her daughter Riley Keough, Lisa Marie Presley openly discussed her experiences within the Church of Scientology.

Starting at the tender age of 13, Presley struggled with drug abuse that continued unabated till her mother intervened and admitted her to a Scientology rehabilitation facility when she was 17. (She passed away last year at the age of 54.)

Reflecting on her experience, Presley wrote, ‘Scientology actually helped.’

She went on saying, “‘The church had a refreshing, exhilarating vibe – it wasn’t your typical organized religion at all. It drew in creative, unique, artistic individuals. It turned into my community.’

Even though she found pleasure in her time at the church, the singer openly acknowledges that she occasionally broke a few of the rules upon her initial visit to the Scientology Celebrity Center as a teenager.

In the spirit of personal transformation, the very first sunrise found me delicately detaching a substantial mirror from its wall mount, followed by a phone call to my trusted confidant, who just so happens to be a cola distributor. With a warm invitation extended, I eagerly anticipated the arrival of this individual and approximately half a dozen others.

‘We proceeded to have a four-day bender in that room.’

Presley left Scientology in 2014 and her daughter Riley is also rumored to have left too.

As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but be moved by the heartbreaking story of Presley’s life. In the cruel twist of fate that occurred last July, her son Benjamin, taken far too soon at only 27 years old, ended his own life after a prolonged struggle with addiction. This tragedy has left an indelible mark on us all.

In the year 2008, after a two-year union with Michael Jackson, her marriage too faced dissolution due to his substance abuse issues. Unfortunately, she herself developed an addiction to opioids following a temporary prescription she received during her recuperation period after giving birth to her twin daughters, Harper Vivienne and Finley.

By 2013, she was heavily abusing cocaine, and checked into rehab at least five times.

In the past few years, it was thought that she stayed sober, but after the passing of her son, Michael Lockwood expressed concerns that she might slip back into old habits due to the emotional distress.

When Elvis Presley, the girl’s father and Priscilla Presley’s child, passed away at age 42 due to a heart attack, it was speculated that his dependency on prescription barbiturates might have played a role in the tragic event, as he died when she was only nine years old.

In my youth, I found myself drawn towards rebellion, and that rebellion took the form of drug use, starting at the tender age of 13 and persisting until I was 17. However, my mother, in her unwavering concern for me, enrolled me at The Castle – a Scientology facility situated in Hollywood – to help me break free from the shackles of drugs.

‘I did everything but mushrooms and heroin or crack,’ she said.

Mixing cocaine, tranquilizers, marijuana, and alcohol together – quite a dangerous combination… It’s a miracle I survived that ordeal.

One day, I found myself surrounded by several individuals on the ground. In a moment of urgency, I decided to drive myself to the Church of Scientology and pleaded for immediate assistance, saying, “Could someone please help me immediately?

For a time it worked, and Lisa Marie said she was drug-free from the age of 17.

At 27 years old, she got married for the second time to Michael Jackson, having been previously wedded for six years to actor Danny Keough, who is the father of her children Benjamin (aged 35) and Riley, also an actress.

In my fervent admiration for the enigmatic Mr. Cage, I can’t help but share a fascinating snippet from his life story. Our mutual bond, you see, lasted a scant three months – a blip compared to the tumultuous journey that preceded it. You might remember, dear reader, that Nicholas Cage had been entangled in a battle against drug addiction during his twenties. And here’s an extraordinary tidbit: he once confessed to partaking in hallucinogenic experiences with none other than his beloved feline companion!

In 2006, she got married to musician Michael Lockwood. The arrival of their twin daughters triggered a struggle with drug addiction in her life, as she fell into the habit of misusing opioids.

In the raw light of her 2016 divorce from Lockwood, following a ten-year marriage, the magnitude of her issue became clear.

Back in 2017, during a court testimony (obtained by Radar Online), she openly acknowledged her habit of using cocaine, opioids, prescription painkillers, and alcohol.

On a heart-wrenching, chilly January day of 2023 in Calabasas, I found myself grappling with the devastating news that my beloved icon, at only 54 years young, had suddenly fallen silent. The cause, as revealed by an autopsy, was a small bowel obstruction following a recent bariatric surgery. It’s still hard to believe she’s gone, and I can’t help but feel the profound loss of a beacon who inspired me so deeply.
