Lisa Jakub Responds to ‘Vanished’ Claims: You Won’t Believe What She Said!
In my own words, I, Lisa Jakub, have recently addressed allegations suggesting that I’ve disappeared since the height of my career.
Or in a more conversational tone:
Hey there! It’s me, Lisa Jakub. Just wanted to clear up some rumors swirling around about my disappearance from the spotlight after my career peak.
As a dedicated follower who played the eldest Hillard daughter Lydia in the beloved 1993 family film, I felt compelled to respond when I found myself mentioned in an article on The List titled “Once-popular child stars who completely vanished.
I couldn’t contain my excitement when I stumbled upon some major news – it turns out, I’ve mysteriously disappeared, completely!
As the passionate admirer I am, I pondered and asked myself, “Is it my current absence from the limelight that led to my disappearance?” – reminiscing about the role I played alongside Will Smith in the iconic 1996 movie Independence Day.
It’s somewhat puzzling to me how I managed to completely vanish (could it be that I’ve had hidden magical abilities?), but once we gather more details, rest assured that this publication will keep you informed.

Fans flocked to the comment section in agreement with the celebrity, one of them humorously suggested, “Given those abilities, it seems fitting for them to be cast in the next Marvel film.
A person chimed in, saying, “I was just about to launch into a defense of yours when I noticed it was you who posted this. ‘She’s very much present! She writes an excellent newsletter by email! She’s active on social media!’
‘Oh my goodness! Please keep us updated if you reappear!’ another quipped.
‘I want to learn this trick,’ another added.
Despite stepping back from her career, Lisa has been active on social media.
Currently, Jakub is employed as a yoga teacher and manages mindfulness getaways specifically designed for veterans dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
In addition to starring in Mrs. Doubtfire and Independence Day, she also played key roles in films such as The Beautician and the Beast (a 1997 Comedy/Romance) and Rambling Rose (from 1991), where she acted alongside Laura Dern.
In the previous year, it was disclosed that during the time they were making Mrs. Doubtfire in 1993, Lisa’s deceased on-screen father, Robin Williams, stepped up to support her after she was expelled from school.
In the beloved comedy movie, Lisa portrayed one of Robin’s on-screen offspring among Matthew Lawrence and Mara Wilson.
The actress revealed that Williams, upon noticing her distress, found out the reason (she got expelled from school). In response, he took the time to pen a personal letter directly to her principal.
Jakub mentioned that he was expelled from high school during the time they filmed Mrs. Doubtfire,” he shared during his appearance on the Brotherly Love podcast alongside Mara and Matthew.

‘The amazing thing was Robin saw that I was upset,’ she recalled.
He inquired about the situation, and I clarified it for him. Later, he penned a letter to my principal expressing his concern about their ruling, stating that I’m simultaneously working towards my education and career, and asking them to reconsider their decision, while also offering their support.
Lisa explained that she was expelled due to the filming schedule.
Originally from Canada, I completed my high school education there. Afterward, I took a break of approximately four months to shoot a movie. During that period, we devised a pre-internet method to send my school assignments back and forth between me and the school. This arrangement continued for some time.
The school communicated that they would be discontinuing the system, which means I won’t be returning there. So, it was expressed as, “Our Canadian school has informed us that things aren’t going as planned anymore and we are not expected to return.
Jakub was in the ninth grade at the time and remembered being heartbroken by the news.
It was incredibly sad, as you understand, because among all the extraordinary aspects of my life, that was the one ordinary part that mattered most.
Although Robin’s letter didn’t help her regain admission, Jakub mentioned that her principal took pride in showcasing the letter in his office instead.

She shared that the principal received a letter, had it displayed in the office after framing it, but made no request for her return, as stated.
Lisa later got her GED and studied writing at the University of Virginia.
In the 1993 film “Madame Doubtfire”, Robin plays Daniel, a struggling voice actor facing challenges in his personal life. After going through a divorce, he also loses custody of his kids.
Daniel devises an unconventional plan to spend more time with his children – he decides to dress up as a Scottish nanny and secure a job from his former spouse, Miranda (played by Sally Field).
Following several challenging decades battling bipolar disorder and addiction, Robin took his own life in 2014 at the age of 63 through the use of a belt for hanging.
In an interview with Business Insider, Chris Columbus, the movie’s director, shared that during filming, he constantly operated four cameras to stay abreast of Robin’s quick-paced antics.
To tell the truth, Robin was so full of spontaneous creativity during the making of Mrs. Doubtfire that Chris is left with an astonishing 972 containers of film footage, which he plans to incorporate into a future documentary.
At the initial stage, he approached me saying, “Hi there, supervisor! If it suits you, I prefer working in a way where I provide you with a few rehearsed performances initially, followed by some improvisation.” (Chris reminisced)

In essence, his intent was clear: he desired to freestyle. Remarkably, this is precisely the approach we adopted for each and every scene. We’d follow the script to the letter, and then, Robin would veer off in a direction that was truly captivating.
Chris shared that he intends to delve once more into his extensive collection of Mrs. Doubtfire recordings, aiming to create a documentary detailing the creative journey of Robin.
‘Approximately 972 containers of Doubtfire film recordings, including scenes used in the movie, outtakes, and behind-the-scenes content, are stored in a warehouse. We’re looking to hire an editor to review this footage,’ he stated.
Let’s explore the unique and enchanting approach that Robin takes when working. I believe it will be intriguing and enjoyable to uncover more details about it.
