Lisa Armstrong met up with an old friend from her music days on Thursday, while still mourning the loss of her beloved labrador, Hurley, who she shared with her former husband, Ant McPartlin.
The make-up artist had brunch in Los Angeles with her close friend, Craig Robert Young. They were briefly famous in the 1990s as a pop duo called Deuce.
49-year-old Armstrong appeared comfortable and casual in a sweater and cargo pants while out with Young, who moved to the U.S. in 2001, and his husband, Michael Di Girolamo, an advertising executive and film producer.
Deuce was a band formed in 1994 by Tom Watkins, who previously managed the Pet Shop Boys and East 17. The group, consisting of Armstrong, Young, Kelly O’Keefe, and Paul Holmes, had four songs reach the top 30 in the UK charts before breaking up in 1997.
Armstrong, who trained at the BRIT school, went on to become a successful makeup artist for popular TV shows like The X Factor, Strictly Come Dancing, and Britain’s Got Talent. Meanwhile, Young relocated to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career.
He’s appeared in several well-known American TV series, including Charmed, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Melrose Place, and Lost. Lost, created by JJ Abrams, quickly became a global success after it first aired in 2004.
The actor played Charlie Chaplin in the 2020 film Manc, directed by David Fincher. The movie is a biographical drama telling the story of Hollywood screenwriter Herman J. Mankiewicz.
Armstrong and her former husband are grieving the recent loss of their 12-year-old dog, Hurley, who passed away in February after a battle with illness.

Ant McPartlin knew his dog, Hurley, was getting very sick and rushed to be with his ex-wife at the vet after finishing a press event for Britain’s Got Talent. They sadly made the difficult decision to euthanize him.
In 2019, after completing rehab for alcohol and drug addiction, the TV presenter discussed his close relationship with Hurley in an interview with The Sun On Sunday.
He described his deep connection with Hurley, explaining it’s a unique bond built on loyalty, affection, and friendship. Hurley is always happy to see him and never scolds him.
The other day, I left a shop and saw a woman on the ground hugging Hurley. She told me he was the dog everyone had been reading about in the news – apparently, Hurley’s become famous!
Ant McPartlin divorced Lisa Armstrong in 2018 after being married for eleven years. He later married his former assistant, Anne-Marie Corbett, in 2021.
During their divorce, Ant McPartlin reportedly insisted his ex-wife could have anything she wanted from the settlement—just not their dog, Hurley. He allegedly told his lawyers he would concede to her other demands, but Hurley was off-limits.
It was so awkward between them that they couldn’t even be in the same car! I heard they worked out this whole system where the TV presenter’s driver would actually transport their dog back and forth just so they wouldn’t have to face each other. Can you believe it?
After trying for 13 years to start a family, the couple adopted a dog in 2013.
Armstrong often posted pictures of Hurley on Instagram, affectionately referring to her dog as her ‘baby boy’.
She last posted a photo with Hurley in August of last year, showing him relaxing on her bed for International Dog Day.
Ant McPartlin and his wife, Anne-Marie, became parents to a baby boy named Wilder in May 2024. The couple also share two dogs, Milo and Bumble.
The loss of Hurley comes after Armstrong’s recent split from her actor boyfriend, Grant Kilburn.
The couple reportedly split up last month, only a few weeks after friends said she was feeling incredibly happy in her new relationship.
