Lisa Armstong, 49, shares sassy single post to mark Valentine’s Day as she grieves her beloved dog Hurley following split from actor boyfriend, 34

Lisa Armstrong playfully acknowledged Valentine’s Day on Instagram with a single post, after recently ending her relationship.

Valentine’s Day was particularly difficult for Lisa, who recently ended her relationship with Grant Kilburn, 34, after they began dating last year.

The makeup artist, who is 49 years old, is also heartbroken over the recent loss of her dog, Hurley, who she cared for with her former husband, Ant McPartlin.

Ant rushed back from the Britain’s Got Talent show after learning his 12-year-old Labrador was very sick and not expected to get better.

On Saturday, Lisa shared a poignant quote that acknowledged the challenges of being alone. It playfully contrasted simple truths (‘Roses are flowers, pebbles are stones’) before offering encouragement to those who are single, urging them to find happiness and self-worth, and reminding them that being alone isn’t a negative thing.

Lisa and Ant, who separated in 2018, previously shared ownership of their dog, Hurley, and later became embroiled in a difficult dispute over who would keep him.

The Sun reports that Lisa was at the veterinary clinic around the same time as the celebrity from ‘I’m A Celebrity’.

Ant and Lisa divorced in 2018 after being married for eleven years. He later married his previous personal assistant, Anne-Marie, in 2021.

Ant has often said his dog, Hurley, was a major source of support while he battled addiction during his difficult divorce from Lisa.

His career seemed ruined after he was arrested for driving under the influence near his home in London.

Ant received a record £86,000 fine, believed to be the largest penalty ever issued by a British court for this type of offense.

After walking his dogs in Richmond Park, Ant was photographed looking upset and messy following a collision with a BMW.

In 2019, after completing rehab, Ant McPartlin discussed his close relationship with Declan Donnelly (Hurley) in an interview with The Sun On Sunday.

He explained that his bond with Hurley is special – a deep connection of loyalty, love, and friendship that’s hard to put into words. Hurley is always happy to see him and never scolds him.

The other day, I left a shop and saw a woman on the ground hugging Hurley. She told me he was the dog everyone had been reading about in the news – apparently, Hurley’s become famous!

Before his divorce from Lisa in 2017, he requested to have visits with their dog even while receiving treatment in a live-in rehab facility, despite being unable to see his wife at the time.

I was so shocked to hear about Ant and his divorce! Apparently, things got really tough when it came to their dog, Hurley. I heard he actually told his lawyers that his ex could have anything she wanted from the divorce… but Hurley was off-limits. He was determined to keep his beloved dog, no matter what!

To avoid facing each other, the TV presenter and their partner arranged for a chauffeur to transport their dog back and forth between their homes.

After trying for 13 years to start a family without success, the couple adopted a dog in 2013.

Lisa had regularly shared snaps of Hurley on Instagram, calling the beloved dog her ‘baby boy’.

She last posted a photo with Hurley in August of last year, showing him relaxing on her bed for International Dog Day.

Ant and his wife, Anne-Marie, became parents to a baby boy named Wilder in May 2024. They also share their home with two dogs, Milo and Bumble.

Lisa and Grant reportedly broke up last month, despite friends previously saying she was very happy in the relationship.

Of their split, a source told The Mirror: ‘It’s very sad but it wasn’t to be.’

Recently, people close to Lisa shared that she seemed much happier and had more energy after her split from Ant in 2018.

According to a source, she was accustomed to being in relationships where she wasn’t the primary focus.

I’m so thrilled for her – she’s finally at the top! She’s being really careful, though, understandably not wanting to rush into anything after being hurt before. But honestly, the way this new guy treats her? It’s like she’s royalty. He absolutely spoils her and can’t seem to do enough to make her happy, and it’s wonderful to see.

You know, I’ve always said a strong relationship is built on genuine admiration, and that’s exactly what I see with this couple. He’s completely devoted to her, and isn’t shy about telling her how much he cares. It’s wonderful to watch her really blossom in her career, and he’s been her biggest supporter every step of the way. It’s just lovely when you see a partner truly championing their significant other’s success!

The Daily Mail reported in December that Grant and Lisa connected quickly after being set up by Stacey and Kevin Clifton after a performance they gave.

In 2023, she ended her relationship with James Green, a 42-year-old electrician for Sky, and he moved out of her house.
