The official trailer for Mutiny, a new action movie starring Jason Statham, is now available. The film is directed by Jean-François Richet, who also directed the 2023 film Plane. Statham plays Cole Reed, a former Special Forces soldier and police officer who now works in private security. Mutiny will hit theaters on August 21st and is Statham’s second big film of 2026, following Shelter which was released in January.

The story follows Reed after he witnesses the murder of his wealthy boss and friend, Tibu. When he’s falsely accused of the crime, Reed flees, eventually hiding on a cargo ship. There, he uncovers a large international conspiracy. The trailer suggests the film will be a fast-paced action thriller, showcasing Jason Statham in a familiar role – a lone fighter seeking justice – with intense close-combat scenes and big explosions, much like his previous film, The Beekeeper.

Annabelle Wallis stars alongside Jason Wong, Roland Møller, and Adrian Lester in this action film. It’s produced by Jason Statham’s production company, Punch Palace Productions, and MadRiver Pictures, based on a script by Lindsay Michel and J.P. Davis. After playing in theaters, the movie will be available on Sky Cinema in the UK later this year as a Sky Original.
