Four nominations apiece have been earned by Ayra Starr, Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar, LISA, with newcomers Chappell Roan and Tyla also receiving their first nominations.
19 contenders stand a chance to secure their initial MTV EMA win at this year’s event. Among them are Kehlani and Tinashe in the Best R&B category, Disclosure and Fred Again.. for Best Electronic, Fontaines D.C. for Best Alternative, The Last Dinner Party for Best New, and BTS’ Jimin for Best K-Pop – this being his first nomination as a soloist.
In other categories, MTV Push’s top contenders compete in the category of Best Push. This category includes Flyana Boss, Laufey, Shaboozey, The Warning, Victoria Monét, as well as LE SSERAFIM and Teddy Swims, all of whom are also nominated for Best New.
For Manchester-based music enthusiasts, the excitement is building as the MTV EMAs approach, with Liam Gallagher facing off against Bon Jovi, Coldplay, Green Day, Kings of Leon, Lenny Kravitz, and The Killers in the “Best Rock” category.
