Lioness Alex Scott is the eighth contestant to arrive in Australia ahead of I’m A Celebrity after emotional goodbye with girlfriend Jess Glynne

Alex Scott, a former professional soccer player, became tearful upon arriving at Brisbane Airport before entering the ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!’ jungle, missing her girlfriend, singer Jess Glynne.

The 41-year-old host of Football Focus admitted feeling nervous as she arrived, wearing a brown knit tracksuit – the top cost £645 and the bottoms £597.

I really miss Jess Glynne – this is the longest we’ve ever been separated, and I’m not used to it since we’re usually together.

This is going to be difficult, and I’m really disappointed to miss her concert in Birmingham. I’m heartbroken I can’t be there, but I know she’ll always be my greatest supporter.

Alex admitted to feeling overwhelmed, saying he was trying not to dwell on how long he’d be apart from her. He expressed a hopeful wish to see her at the bridge, but acknowledged that wasn’t certain.

She said a tearful goodbye to her girlfriend, Jess, at Heathrow Airport on Monday before Jess departed. They had been together for two years, and Jess was very supportive.

Alex and Jess, who started dating in 2023, were photographed hugging goodbye at the airport before Jess boarded her flight.

Alex, a 41-year-old TV personality and ex-footballer, played professionally for teams like Arsenal and Birmingham City, as well as representing Great Britain. He’s now working as a sports commentator.

She’ll be appearing alongside popular personalities like AngryGinge (Morgan Burtwistle), the rapper Aitch, actress Lisa Riley from Emmerdale, and Shona McGarty, who previously starred in EastEnders.

The ex-footballer and TV host is reportedly enthusiastic and willing to face any challenge, especially the tough Bushtucker Trials on the show.

Alex wants to reveal a new side of her personality to the audience by challenging herself and stepping outside of her usual comfort zone in the Australian jungle.

It came hours after Comedian Eddie Kadi touched down in Australia wearing a patterned tracksuit.

When asked why he was in Australia, he bizarrely told the Daily Mail, ‘I’m looking for  Mowgli.

I’m hoping to run into my friends Mowgli, Timon, and Pumbaa – it’s been a long time since we’ve all hung out.

When asked if he’d miss his two-year-old daughter, the radio host replied with a heartfelt, ‘Oh gosh, absolutely!’

I’m really going to miss my daughter. I’ve been making short videos for her during her trip, as she’s never been this far from home before.

Eddie has been keeping busy with several TV projects. In 2023, he competed on Strictly Come Dancing with Karen Hauer, and he also filmed for the show Celebrity Apprentice.

Earlier this year, Eddie started the “Man Like You” podcast with Mo Gilligan, a TV personality who appeared on the show in 2022.

Eddie arrived in Australia after Ruby Wax, AngryGinge, Aitch, Lisa Riley, Kelly Brook, and Shona McGarty had already arrived.

Still to arrive are Martin Kemp and Ozzy Osbourne’s son, Jack.

The popular survival show, hosted by Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, returns to ITV this Sunday.

The show is consistently popular thanks to the celebrities who bravely face challenges in the New South Wales jungle each year.

Vogue Williams, a well-known TV personality from Ireland, and Tom Read Wilson, famous for his role as the receptionist on Celebs Go Dating, are joining this year’s I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! as latecomers.

Every season, two new contestants arrive a week after the initial group of ten celebrities. They usually have to finish a separate challenge before officially becoming part of the main camp.
