As a seasoned gamer and avid follower of TV shows, I can confidently say that the news about Kelly Macdonald joining the cast of HBO’s Green Lantern series, titled Lanterns, has sent ripples of excitement through the entertainment world. Line of Duty star Kelly Macdonald has landed her next lead TV role.
As a gamer, I can’t help but get excited when I hear about new cast additions to my favorite shows! It turns out that the actress who brought DCI Joanne Davidson to life in that gripping police drama has now joined the ensemble of HBO’s Green Lantern TV series – Lanterns. Can’t wait to see what she brings to the table!
In this eight-episode series, the focus is on John Stewart, a fresh recruit (played by Aaron Pierre), as he embarks on his journey within the cosmic law enforcement agency of the DC Universe. He receives guidance from the seasoned hero Hal Jordan (portrayed by Kyle Chandler).
The two cosmic law enforcers find themselves entangled in a cryptic case on our planet, delving into a sinister mystery when they start probing a homicide in the Midwestern United States.
As reported by Deadline, Macdonald is set to portray the tough yet loving Sheriff Kerry, who is strongly committed to her family and the tight-knit community she serves. It’s hinted that her character could develop romantic feelings for Hal Jordan.
Her determination, forged by a challenging history that’s made her unwavering, gives her stability as the town’s hidden truths emerge, according to the character description.
The team of Damon Lindelof, Chris Mundy, and renowned DC Comics writer Tom King will reimagine the concept of Lanterns. James Gunn and Peter Safran, the heads of DCU, will oversee production on this project.
We’re excited to introduce this groundbreaking DC comic series on HBO under the leadership of Chris, Damon, and Tom,” is one way to paraphrase the original sentence. This version maintains the essence of the original while using more common, everyday language that is easy for readers to understand.
John Stewart and Hal Jordan are two captivating characters from DC Comics, and ‘Lanterns’ breathes life into them in an innovative detective tale. This story serves as a cornerstone for the integrated DC Universe we’re introducing next summer with ‘Superman’.
Regarding McDonald, he’s sharing the screen with Damian Lewis in the latest chilling vampire drama titled “The Radleys“.
The movie you can currently stream on Sky Cinema revolves around a couple, married for some time, concealing a disturbing truth from their offspring.
McDonald is set to appear in the upcoming Netflix crime show, titled “Department Q,” joining the cast that includes Matthew Goode from “Downton Abbey” and Chloe Pirrie, a prominent figure in “The Queen’s Gambit.
Lanterns doesn’t have a release date yet.
