As a devoted fan who has lived and breathed every gripping episode of Line of Duty since its inception, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement at the mere prospect of another season. The thought of Ted Hastings and his relentless pursuit of truth once again gracing our screens is nothing short of exhilarating.
As a diehard fan, I can’t contain my excitement upon hearing Adrian Dunbar, the star of Line of Duty, finally addressing the whispers about the series’ comeback. He hinted that its potential return could ignite a fiery storm on the internet, sending fans into a frenzy!
For six seasons, from 2012 to 2021, a crime-drama series unfolded, focusing on a fictional anti-corruption team within the British police force. This captivating show garnered both critical and audience praise during its entire broadcast.
For the past three years following its last episode, there’s been uncertainty about whether the show will continue or not. However, whispers suggesting an upcoming seventh season have surfaced recently.

Looking forward to the impending declaration, Dunbar, who has portrayed Ted Hastings in every one of the six series, hinted to Times Radio that an affirmation might arrive shortly, expressing his eagerness for another opportunity to step back into his character again.
He nodded affirmatively when asked about the show’s comeback. “It seems likely,” he said, “but just as someone put it, nothing is certain until the final decision is made.
We’re all eagerly waiting for someone to declare, ‘it’s official!’ Once that happens, we’ll move forward. Let me assure you, the moment they make the announcement, it will set the internet ablaze.

During the interview, Dunbar, who’s also known for his role in “Ridley,” delved deeper into his character, expressing that his extended time on the series spanning over a dozen years was both humbling and rewarding.
He mentioned that one of his dreams was to develop a legendary character on British television, especially for a famous TV show. And to actually achieve this is both humbling and fulfilling. To put it into words, I’d say it’s a delightful and comforting sensation – truly wonderful.
Line of Duty streams on BBC iPlayer.
