Line of Duty star confirms she’s “been asked” about new season as return excitement builds
Actress Christina Chong, known from “Line of Duty,” disclosed that there have been discussions about her reappearance in a potential upcoming season.
In the second and sixth seasons of the BBC One crime series, the actor portrayed Detective Inspector Nicola Rogerson, and it seems there’s speculation about whether she might be available for a potential seventh season.
It was inquired about which season we’re referring to, and the answer is indeed the seventh one. There’s a possibility that Nicola Rogerson could reappear in this upcoming season, as mentioned by Chong to The Mirror.
Although an official announcement or confirmation about a seventh season hasn’t been made yet, cast members have hinted at behind-the-scenes progress, and they seem eager and ready to proceed with it.
Looking back at how the show impacted her life, Chong remarked: “I hadn’t anticipated it would be so significant, yet people still identify me with it today.
She mentioned that it significantly enhanced her reputation, pointing out that Jed Mercurio, the writer of Line of Duty, has achieved immense global success too.
She shared that she had collaborated with Martin Compston, known for his role as DI Steve Arnott in the series, on a horror movie which was one of her initial projects. Therefore, whenever she encounters Martin, it feels like reuniting at home, reminding her, “Wow, you were there when I began my career.
She continued, “Everyone is just wonderful on the set,” she said. “And even Jed, who usually isn’t there, popped by during my last visit during the pandemic. It was unexpected but really sweet of him to say hello.
The actor has gained significant recognition for portraying La’an Noonien Singh in the Star Trek spin-off, Strange New Worlds. She mentioned that she is currently producing an EP of music, scheduled to release along with the upcoming third season. Following this, she plans to work on a full album.
She mentioned that she’s been busy creating a new album. Jake Gosling, who has collaborated with Ed Sheeran, is the producer. Next week, she’ll be heading to Nashville for recording sessions, and she’s really enjoying the experience.
