A new TV series, similar to The Crown, is planned about the history of Manchester United football club, covering both its successes and struggles. Reports suggest Jed Mercurio, known for shows like Line of Duty, is in discussions to work on the project.
Adrian ‘Mercurio’, who’s famous for his work on shows like Line of Duty and Bodyguard, is reportedly being considered for a new drama about Manchester United. This comes after the club partnered with production company Lionsgate, according to The Athletic.
The series will explore the rich history of the club, featuring legendary players like George Best, David Beckham, and Wayne Rooney, and is anticipated to be similar in style to the acclaimed drama The Crown.

The new series will likely be similar in style and scope to popular royal dramas on Netflix. It’s expected to tell the story of the football club over many years, starting from its beginnings in 1878 when it was known as Newton Heath LYR.
Details about the new series are still being kept secret. It hasn’t been officially announced whether Jed Mercurio is involved. Digital Spy has contacted his team for confirmation, but they haven’t responded yet.

Last June, Netflix announced that Marcos Mercurio would write, oversee, and executive produce a new series called Trinity.
The new eight-episode series brings the writer back together with Richard Madden, the actor known for his role in the popular 2018 show Bodyguard, which the writer also created.
Featuring Gugu Mbatha-Raw (from Loki) as Commander Katherine Decker, Trinity is a suspenseful thriller that explores the increasingly risky connection between Decker and Secretary of Defense Webb Preston (Madden).
The story follows a brave female Naval Officer (Mbatha-Raw) who begins a relationship with the charming Secretary of Defense (Madden), unaware that he might be involved in a risky and hidden plot.
Adrian Mercurio is coming back for another season of the popular show Line of Duty, which was confirmed last November.

Vicky McClure, Adrian Dunbar, and Martin Compston will return as the team from AC-12, now known as the Inspectorate of Police Standards, to investigate what they say is their most challenging case yet.
When the seventh season was announced, Jed Mercurio said that everyone working on Line of Duty is incredibly thankful for the support of its viewers.
It’s been a pleasure having so many viewers follow AC-12’s investigations over the past six seasons, and we’re thrilled to be back for a seventh. Apparently, corruption in the country was said to have stopped while Line of Duty wasn’t on television, so I’ve had to get creative!
Trinity currently has no release date.
The latest issue of Living Legends magazine is now available, and it’s dedicated to the incredible Dolly Parton! You can find ‘Dolly at 80’ in shops or order it online for only £8.99.
