Lindsey Morgan explains why she needed to step away from Walker
As a gamer who has spent countless hours immersed in various narratives, I can deeply relate to Lindsey Morgan‘s story. Like her, I too have felt the pull of a beloved character and the series that brought us together. However, unlike her, my battles have been against virtual enemies, not the real-life challenges she faced.
Fans of the show “Walker” deeply appreciated Lindsey Morgan’s character Micki, and it was hard to imagine the series without her presence. Regrettably, Morgan decided to depart from the series due to some personal matters.
At that point in time, it seemed as if she might be prepared to embark on something fresh or had perhaps reached her limit with Micki. However, this wasn’t the truth. Morgan has recently disclosed the real motive behind her departure from the series, and it’s deeply sad for her.
Lindsey Morgan suffered a spinal injury causing her to leave Walker
Morgan felt more like continuing her journey with Micki and the series, rather than bidding them farewell. The part she was cast in had been a self-fulfilling prophecy for her – having just concluded her run on “The 100,” she seamlessly transitioned into the leading female role in the fresh CW series.
That was her mistake, she now admits. She should have taken some time off.
TVLine reports that Morgan admitted feeling perpetually anxious, with both her body and mind under constant tension. She doubts that she delivered her optimal performance during this period.
I feel like I did not do good work. And looking back on it now, it was because I was so stressed out in my body — mentally and physically. I was a mess. I couldn’t figure out why. I have all of this responsibility on my shoulders, and I felt like I was failing everyone — and myself.
Nevertheless, it wasn’t just about taking a break. She had sustained a spinal injury that was impacting both her nervous system and brainstem. Initially, her mind resisted the idea of stepping away from the series, as she cherished her dream role. However, for the sake of her physical health, she knew it was necessary to do so.
Lindsey Morgan had two choices, but only one good for her health
In a similar vein, Morgan faced a decision. Her physicians could’ve prescribed medication to help her continue her work, yet it was understood that this wouldn’t be the optimal solution for her.
The only other option was the leave the series she loved. She felt like she was letting everyone down when she did this, but she knew, deep down, that she had to put her health first. She needed to minimize the stress on her body.
In this single lifetime we’re given, it’s crucial to prioritize our well-being – mentally and physically. Though it may seem like Morgan has disappointed Walker, the truth is quite different. Let’s stand by her, as she navigates through this situation.
