Police have released the mugshot of a woman accused of stalking Fleetwood Mac guitarist Lindsey Buckingham, following an attack where she allegedly used an unidentified substance on him.
Michelle Dick, 55, was arrested in Fort Wayne, Indiana on Saturday night. She is currently held at the Allen County Jail and will be transferred to California to face charges, according to official records.
Dick is facing accusations of throwing an unknown substance at 76-year-old Buckingham on March 25th in Santa Monica, California.
The woman has previously stalked the Fleetwood Mac singer and now faces multiple felony charges in Los Angeles related to a recent attack on her.
According to court documents obtained by the Daily Mail, Dick is charged with seven crimes, such as threatening someone, attacking them with a vehicle, and intentionally damaging property as a felony.
Dick also faced stalking charges involving both Buckingham and another individual named Stephanie N., according to court records.
Following a series of related incidents, a court found enough evidence to charge Dick, and a warrant has been issued for her arrest. Bail has been set at $300,000.
Just over a year after receiving a permanent restraining order against Dick, Buckingham was the target of an unexpected attack. Authorities stated that Dick had been harassing Buckingham since 2021.
Court documents show that in 2021, a man named Dick started repeatedly calling Buckingham’s wife, falsely claiming to be his daughter.
Buckingham claimed Dick threatened his and his family’s lives, repeatedly visited his home, and even falsely reported an emergency to 911. This led police to arrive at Buckingham’s house while he was sleeping and arrest him.
Dick told KTLA5 that she visited Buckingham’s home last year and spoke to him again just last month. At the time, she wasn’t arrested and was living in her car.
Dick has an extensive history of brushes with the law prior to her incidents involving Buckingham.
I was really shocked to learn back in 2016 that Dick was arrested in Alameda County, California. The charges were serious – driving under the influence and, even worse, allegedly physically assaulting a police officer. It was a tough time for everyone who supports him.
Okay, so she was pulled over, and it was… a lot. Apparently, they hit her with a bunch of charges – like, several small ones. They said she refused to take a blood alcohol test, and that on top of that, she was driving under the influence. And get this – they claimed her blood alcohol was at 0.08% or higher, which is the legal limit! I just… I can’t believe it. It’s all so messy and upsetting!
Dick also faces charges for injuring a police officer, and for interfering with both officers and emergency medical technicians while they were trying to do their jobs.
She ultimately pleaded no contest to driving under the influence, and admitted to having a blood alcohol level that was over the legal limit.
As part of a plea deal, all other charges against her were dismissed. While she was initially sentenced to 20 days in jail, court records show she only served three days at the Santa Rita Jail in Alameda County.
She completed a three-year probation period that ended in January 2020, right before she became involved with Buckingham and his family.
Buckingham currently has a five-year restraining order against Dick, which is a continuation of a temporary order he previously received. The original temporary order ended on December 20, 2024, and on that same day, Buckingham and his wife both provided written statements at a court hearing in Los Angeles.
A statement from Buckingham, published by the Daily Mail, revealed a disturbing story of how he alleged Dick subjected him and his family to a campaign of fear and intimidation.
According to court documents, Dick reportedly obtained his wife Kristen’s, 56, work phone number and repeatedly called her – sometimes dozens of times a day – for about three months between late 2021 and early 2022.
He told the court that Dick had repeatedly left lengthy and threatening voicemails, claiming he was the father of his child and vowing to harm him and his family.
She reportedly left voicemails for William Buckingham, 27, in 2021, continuing to claim she was the daughter of the famous rock star.
In a sworn statement, Buckingham firmly denied being Dick’s father and claimed he had never met her. He also stated that the stalker accused him of causing facial disfigurements she experienced as a child and repeatedly demanded money from him.
From what I understand, back in 2022, Dick was actually told by the police to stop reaching out to the Buckinghams, and being a law-abiding person, he respected their request and didn’t contact them again. It’s a shame, but he followed the rules.
However, in September 2024, she reportedly resumed her harassment, leaving collages with pictures of Buckingham and Kristen’s faces in their mailboxes.
Buckingham and his wife didn’t find Dick at home, but they recognized the collage as being made by her because it featured photos from her Instagram account and pictures of herself.
Buckingham stated that after Dick began contacting Kristen, she had a security team placed at her home because she lives apart from Buckingham.
But just a day after the collages appeared, one of Kristen’s guards spotted Dick’s car parked outside.
According to Buckingham, the guard contacted the police, who followed Dick to the Pacific Coast Highway. There, they stopped her and reported she was speaking incoherently, claiming he was her father and had tried to suffocate her when she was a child. The police let her go with a warning not to return.
In November, police reportedly went to Buckingham’s home, woke him up, and handcuffed him, taking him outside after receiving a 911 call.
According to court testimony, emergency services were alerted that William, Buckingham’s son, was at his house, suicidal, and that the caller had reportedly heard gunshots.
Buckingham testified that police searched the property for about twenty minutes before realizing it was a false alarm, at which point they removed his handcuffs.
Buckingham stated that police traced the 911 call to Ms. Dick’s phone, and that this was part of a continuing series of harassing and threatening actions directed at him and his family, according to a statement from an LAPD detective.
He stated that without someone to control her actions, he feared she might become physically violent towards him and his family.
The judge was convinced by his reasoning and extended the temporary restraining order, providing Buckingham with five years of protection from Dick until December 20, 2029.
The court order permanently required Dick to stay at least 100 yards away from Buckingham, Kristen, and William. It also prohibited her from threatening, harassing, or contacting the musician in any way.
As a longtime follower, I have to say, Dick’s interview after the incident at Buckingham felt…odd. She hadn’t spoken publicly since, and instead of clearing things up, it just seemed to add to the intense, almost unsettling public interest in everything surrounding her. It definitely didn’t feel like a move to put things to rest.
Speaking with KTLA, she firmly reiterated her long-held belief that she is the daughter of Buckingham, clarifying, ‘He didn’t raise me, but he is my biological father.’
She also revealed that she contacted Buckingham the week before the incident and admitted to visiting his home again.
She stated she visited his home in Brentwood once last year, and claims she was unaware of the restraining order against her at the time.
According to legal documents obtained by the Daily Mail, a sheriff’s deputy attempted to deliver a restraining order to Dick in the Bay Area, where she appeared to be living, but was unsuccessful.
It’s worth noting that the effort to officially notify Dick failed in December 2025, roughly a year after the court approved the order for Buckingham.
Since the surprising attack, many of Buckingham’s loved ones have been rushing to support him.
His daughter, 26-year-old Leelee Welles Buckingham, arrived at his home with her boyfriend, Axel Youngdale. She is his daughter with his current wife.
Leelee was spotted leaving her father’s house in Brentwood, looking worried and carrying her dog, Billy. She was dressed casually in sweatpants.
According to a statement made on December 20, 2024, Leelee and her mother were the first to bring Michelle Dick’s voicemails to the attention of detectives in 2021, which led to an investigation being opened on Dick.
Among the visitors to Buckingham Palace this week, including friends and family, was a man with silver hair from the security company Lions 4 Security.
