Lindsey Buckingham, former guitarist for Fleetwood Mac, attacked by a woman in Santa Monica

Lindsey Buckingham, a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, was reportedly attacked by a woman in Santa Monica on Wednesday morning.

Police in Los Angeles say a woman with a history of stalking musician Lindsey Buckingham, 76, threw an unidentified substance at him as he was entering a building for an appointment. Buckingham wasn’t hurt. Authorities say the woman is known to him and had previously been investigated by the LAPD’s threat management team.

Investigators think the woman discovered the time and location of Buckingham’s appointment. While she wasn’t caught Wednesday morning, authorities anticipated an arrest would happen shortly.

Santa Monica police and the LAPD are investigating the incident.

Representatives for Buckingham have not responded to a request for comment.

In December 2024, Buckingham asked the court for a restraining order against Michelle Dick, who was 53 years old at the time. A judge granted the order, requiring Dick to stay at least 100 yards away from Buckingham, his wife, and his son. She is also prohibited from contacting or harassing him in any way.
