Lindsay Lohan is seen on the set of Freaky Friday 2 as co-star Jamie Lee Curtis pumps her fist in the air while in a convertible Bronco
As a big fan of the classic films from my childhood, I can’t contain my excitement about the upcoming Freaky Friday sequel! Having grown up watching Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan swap bodies in the original movie, I can only imagine what wacky and hilarious situations they’ll get into this time around.
Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis seemed to enjoy themselves greatly while filming Freaky Friday 2 in Los Angeles on Wednesday.
Lindsay, now 38 years old, will once again portray Anna Coleman, and Jamie, at 65, will take on the role of Anna’s mother Tess in the sequel to the 2003 film about bodies being swapped.
As I strolled through the bustling streets of downtown Los Angeles, I couldn’t help but notice the dynamic duo cruising by in a sunny yellow Ford Bronco convertible, their laughter echoing off the buildings as they enjoyed their carefree joyride together.
The actress from Mean Girls beamed with a dazzling grin, wearing a graphic T-shirt and frayed denim shorts. Meanwhile, the Academy Award recipient, clad entirely in denim, enthusiastically raised her fist in the air.
I can’t contain my excitement as I share this news from behind-the-scenes of Freaky Friday 2! After Lindsay herself revealed the amazing experience she’s living through while filming, I’m left in awe and longing to be part of it all.
Despite the fact that specifics about the storyline are yet to be disclosed, Lindsay has shared with Good Morning America that her role in the upcoming movie involves having a daughter. Moreover, she admitted to undergoing guitar lessons to better portray her character.
She admitted, “I don’t have much to add, but I am learning to play the guitar and I have a child who acts in films.”
‘It’s going to be a really Freaky Friday. Much freakier than you would expect.’
The Mean Girls actress is particularly delighted to collaborate with her on-screen mother, Jamie, for their latest project.
She expressed her delight, adding, “It’s an amazing experience for us all. We truly enjoy every moment of it.”
‘It’s just lot of love, lot of fun, lot of laughs. It’s a great experience.’
Over the years, Jamie and I have managed to keep our friendship alive. The saying goes that when you have a best friend or a very close relationship, even if you’re apart for long periods, when you reunite, it feels as if no time has passed.
‘I think just always, women supporting women is such an incredible thing.’
I can’t contain my excitement as I watch the stars slip back into their beloved mother-daughter roles from the legendary 2003 movie. It’s been an astounding 21 years since this film captured our hearts and turned into a cherished classic in every household.
The initial images shared from Disney’s film set subtly hinted at the show’s humorous concept: a mother and daughter switching bodies.
Jamie makes a rock and roll gesture and sticks out her tongue, while Lindsay looks straight into the camera with a pleasant smile.
As a movie enthusiast who grew up watching Jodie Foster and Lindsay Lohan swap lives in the hilarious 2003 comedy “Freaky Friday,” I couldn’t contain my excitement when I read the studio’s announcement: “The Colemans are back and returning to theaters in 2025! The long-awaited sequel to Freaky Friday is now in production!” The original film holds a special place in my heart, bringing countless laughs and heartwarming moments. With the news of its continuation, I can’t help but feel elated at the prospect of revisiting this beloved family for another adventure.
A multitude of fans rushed to the comment area to share their enthusiasm, with one user identified as X posting: “This is an historically unforgettable reunion.”
Another chimed in: ‘I need Chad Michael Murray back.’
Despite Disney keeping quiet about the storyline for the sequel, Lindsay gave her followers a sneak peek into the movie’s production through an Instagram post.
In a captivating scene captured on video, the camera moved from the photographer to Lindsay Lohan, famed for her roles in “The Parent Trap,” and Jamie Lee Curtis, known for her work in “Halloween.” They stood next to each other outside their trailers, playfully peeking out, and exchanged heartwarming moments by sitting on the trailer steps together.
She captioned the clip: ‘We’re back!’
Jamie shared a photo of herself and her TV daughter on Instagram with the caption: “We’re so excited (or maybe a little freaked out?) as the Colemans prepare for another round of unusual antics!”
She additionally posted the news on her Instagram Story with the caption: “Let’s get this started! Unleash your inner freak!”
A few months ago, I shared with People magazine that the production of Freaky Friday 2 was underway. I couldn’t contain my excitement about collaborating with Jamie once more and exploring new heights for our characters.
“I chat with her nearly every other day on average, so I believe we’ll have an enjoyable time together,” she remarked.
In the movie “Freaky Friday,” which is a modern adaptation of the 1976 film featuring Jodie Foster, the roles of the uptight psychiatrist mother Tess and the rebellious high school student Anna are portrayed by Jamie and Lindsay respectively. After an intense argument, they inexplicably exchange bodies.
In the movie, Mark Harmon played the role of Tess’s finance, while Chad Michael Murray portrayed Anna’s boyfriend, Jake.
To mark the movie’s 20-year milestone, The New York Times interviewed the actors about their enduring friendship.
In the office, we went over the script together, and it became an exciting project for both of us. I had to surrender complete control and trust the process. Lindsay was just as adaptable as I was. Her acting skills, showcased in The Parent Trap, were truly remarkable. It was a significant role and a large production. Our connection developed naturally and smoothly.
She added that the fandom started asking when they could expect a second film.
During my global travels with Halloween, many asked if there would be another Freaky Friday instalment, Jamie shared with the media outlet. There was a strong resonance with the idea. Upon returning, I reached out to Disney and expressed, “It seems we have the makings of a film.”
