Lindsay Lohan commands attention in a figure-hugging pink gown as she joins co-star Jamie Lee Curtis at the world premiere of Freakier Friday in Mexico

At the world premiere of “Freaky Friday” in Mexico on Thursday, Lindsay Lohan and her co-star Jamie Lee Curtis drew eyes in a captivating pink dress and attire, respectively.

In the outing, the 39-year-old actress, returning to her role in the follow-up of the 2003 movie “Freaky Friday,” was stunningly beautiful by embracing a fully glamorous look.

Her dress featured a silky ruffle design down the center which pooled out into a fishtail design.

To finish off her stylish outfit, Lindsay added a golden necklace that matched her dress and pulled back her blonde hair into a sophisticated bun.

While Jamie, aged 66, made a captivating impression, she strutted out wearing a bold, vibrant orange sequined pencil skirt.

She matched her skirt with an orangish-silk blouse and put on a set of subtle, skin-toned, square-toed, shoes.

The upcoming film, serving as a follow-up to the 2003 release, finds Lindsay and Jamie Lee Curtis entangled in fourfold trouble once more, as they trade bodies for a second time – exactly 22 years since their initial swap.

Lindsay joined Jamie on stage to speak to a crowd of excited fans during the film festivities.

22 years have passed since Lindsay and Jamie played Anna and Tess Coleman in Mark Waters’ widely praised remake of Freaky Friday, which earned an impressive $160.8 million worldwide.

On Tuesday, Jamie shared with People: “I feel confident in her trustworthiness. Not many people can claim that. However, I am certain that anything I confide in her will remain private. We’ve experienced difficulties together, as life inherently does. But she has proven to be someone who keeps my secrets.

‘Even though things might seem dramatic or showy, we’re still very much alive. The truth of our shared journey goes beyond the glitz and glamour. We’ve formed a genuine bond, one that has persisted. Such connections are rare and precious to me.’

The actress expressed: “The term ‘safe’ holds significant meaning for me. I need to feel secure in the presence of others, and Jamie is one such individual I feel safe with. In fact, I feel extremely secure with you. I find comfort in confiding in you. So while you mentioned ‘trust,’ for me, it’s all about feeling ‘safe.’

In the past eighteen years, Lindsay’s first major movie role as a lead actress on stage was marked by a comedy with supernatural elements. Her acting career had been overshadowed for some time due to six court-mandated rehabilitation stays and various scandalous behavior common among Hollywood’s young stars.

In the upcoming film, serving as a follow-up to the 2003 release, Lindsay and Jamie find themselves once more entangled in fourfold confusion, as they exchange their physical forms yet again – this time, 22 years since their initial swap of identities.

In the initial movie, we see a mother-daughter duo, portrayed by Curtis and Lohan, undergo an enchanting transformation where they mysteriously swap lives after deciphering a mysterious message from a fortune cookie.

In the sequel, the storyline resembles the original, but it introduces an unexpected turn centered around Gen Z teenagers, causing turmoil for everyone involved.

This time, Lindsay’s character Anna is getting ready to marry Eric Davies (played by Manny Jacinto), but there’s a problem: her teenager daughter Harper (portrayed by Julia Butters) dislikes Eric’s teenage daughter Lily (acted by Sophia Hammons).

More recently, Lindsay’s original Freaky Friday paycheck has come to light again, leaving fans astonished.

In contrast to the blockbuster hit movie made in 2003 that grossed more than $160 million with a production cost of only $26 million, Lindsay Lohan received merely $550,000 for playing the leading part.

While Disney’s 1998 remake of The Parent Trap marked her initial success, it was the movie Freaky Friday that truly solidified her as a teen idol and established her as a significant player in Hollywood.

In 2004, when she starred in “Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen,” her salary had significantly increased and was almost double what it originally was, estimated to be around $1 million.

In the whirlwind of 2004, I found myself stepping into the limelight as Regina George in Mean Girls – a role that would forever change my life. This movie, which resonates so deeply with countless fans, has since become an indelible part of my career and a cultural touchstone, frequently quoted across the globe.

In the previous year, it was reported that Lohan starred in a short role for the musical adaptation of Mean Girls, pocketing an estimated $500,000. This suggests that Lohan has successfully navigated beyond the challenges of her public life from before.

For several years, it appeared that Lindsay was infallible, earning salaries worth millions due to her widespread appeal.

In a different phrasing: The follow-up film to Herbie, titled “Herbie: Fully Loaded,” received harsh criticism from critics, but it was successful at the box office nonetheless. On the other hand, her role in Robert Altman’s A Prairie Home Companion, which was more art-focused and featured a supporting part, garnered exceptional reviews and did well financially despite having a small budget.

Achievements paved the path for Lohan to secure her largest earnings yet: an estimated $7.5 million from the 2006 film, Just My Luck.

Her luck ran out with that rom-com, which costarred a young Chris Pine.

The movie received poor reviews from both critics and viewers, earning just $38 million at the box office compared to its production cost of $28 million. A large portion of that budget went towards Lindsay Lohan’s salary.

Despite earning more than its production expenses, Just My Luck probably didn’t generate much, if any, profit when considering advertising and additional promotion costs.

From that point onward, her career took a turn for the worse. It wasn’t until the 2007 movie “Georgia Rule” that she landed another significant role, sharing the screen with Jane Fonda and Felicity Huffman. Regrettably, this film did not meet expectations.

In that particular year, I found myself taking on leading roles in the unconventional horror-thriller “I Know Who Killed Me” and the television film “Labor Pains.” Unfortunately, these projects didn’t resonate as well with the audience at the box office.

During this phase of her career, Lohan predominantly took on minor roles that either required her to play herself or appear in secondary positions.

In 2013, my lead role in the contentious Paul Schrader thriller The Canyons rekindled some critical attention, yet I couldn’t translate that interest into substantial roles afterward. Regrettably, from 2015 to 2019, I was absent from the silver screen.

Lately, she’s been making an effort to redefine her image through the less memorable and critically panned romantic comedies on Netflix like “Falling for Christmas” (2022), “Irish Wish” (2024) and “Our Little Secret” (2024).
