Linda Robson shared that she was enjoying the best time of her vacation, only to learn later that her Birds Of A Feather co-star Pauline Quirke had been diagnosed with dementia.

65-year-old actress will be taking a break from all commercial and work commitments, as announced by her husband in a statement, following her diagnosis with the disease back in 2021.

Linda, who is currently 66 years old, is currently enjoying a Caribbean cruise near Granada, and she recently posted pictures showing her with friends during their vacation.

The popular Loose Women cast member shared a photo featuring her alongside a friend, captioning it: “We’re absolutely loving every moment!

For the very first time, Steve shared the news that his wife, Pauline, had been diagnosed with Dementia in 2021. As a result, she has chosen to take a step back from all her professional and business commitments, a decision made with this diagnosis in mind.

Pauline has served as an inspiring figure due to her accomplishments in the film and television field, her charitable efforts, and her role as the founder of the thriving Pauline Quirke Academy for Performing Arts (PQA).

Her skills, commitment, and innovative mindset have impacted a multitude of individuals and will persistently inspire others via the enduring impact of her creations and through PQA, where her vision and mentorship have fostered the growth and artistic passion of numerous youths, boosting their self-assurance.

Pauline might be most recognized for her role as Sharon Theodopolopodous in the long-running, side-splitting television series ‘Birds of a Feather,’ which was on air for almost three decades.

In the realm of dramatic performances, she shone brilliantly in ‘The Sculptress’, earning a BAFTA nomination, and equally impressed audiences with her enigmatic portrayal of Susan Wright on ITV’s Broadchurch.

2020’s Birds Of A Feather special stirred rumors of a conflict between Linda and Pauline, as Pauline didn’t make an appearance during that event.

Originally, they were the main characters who portrayed friends Tracy and Sharon across twelve seasons. However, in the 2020 special, photos showing them together were taken out.

Linda later addressed the rumours and insisted she and Pauline were still friends.

2022 saw a conversation with the reflection where she mentioned, “Some people speculate that there was a rift between me and Pauline. However, despite not being able to meet up during the lockdown, we have reunited since then.

She appears to have lost interest in acting, as she finds it exhausting due to the long working hours. Instead, she is focusing her energy on drama schools, taking active roles in classes and related activities.

‘I frequently run into Lesley [Joseph] due to our victory in Celebrity Coach Trip last year. During the lockdowns, I’d leave amusing items on her doorstep such as Tena Lady products and hair dye. However, when I was unwell, both Pauline and Lesley reached out to me or a family member every few days to check on my health. They provided significant support and were always there for me during that tough time.’

She additionally shared with The Sun: “Disregard any rumors about my and Pauline having a disagreement. It’s pure nonsense. Pauline decided not to participate in Birds Of A Feather. She is focusing on her acting school, and that’s all there is to it.

Since we were both ten years old, we’ve been acquainted and have maintained a friendship. As for Pauline returning to the show, I’m not certain. However, I can confirm that the Christmas special was incredibly successful, and ITV was extremely delighted with its reception.

In 2023 on Loose Women, Linda confessed that she had previously felt a sense of jealousy towards the acting opportunities Pauline received following “Birds Of A Feather.

She mentioned that she wasn’t actually jealous of Pauline Quirke, but in the past, she did feel a sense of envy towards the roles Pauline Quirke was given, particularly in dramas.

Initially, I felt, “What a delight! I’m genuinely happy for you, but I also yearn to perform in dramatic roles myself.” However, now that I am involved in drama, my envy dissipates, doesn’t it? Yet, unchecked jealousy can indeed be quite harmful, can’t it?

Though I was thrilled about her success, I couldn’t help but feel a tinge of envy, wishing I could have shared some of it myself.

2022 saw me, the overly enthusiastic fan, eagerly witnessing an impromptu reunion between Linda, Pauline, and Lesley Joseph – my beloved stars from that cherished show! They decided to lay those pesky rumors of a rift to rest over a delightful lunch together.

Linda shared: ‘We took a picture of us both, and Roberta put it on my Instagram. It was a delightful lunch spent with my cherished friends.’ (implying an expression of joy and camaraderie)
