Linda Nolan’s brother shares cancer diagnosis just weeks after her death

It’s been disclosed that Brian Nolan, the sibling of the late vocalist Linda Nolan and talk show host Coleen Nolan on “Loose Women,” has received a diagnosis of prostate cancer.

As I received my diagnosis, it was like getting smacked square in the face by a speeding train. However, my doctor reassured me with words that filled me with hope: “We’re going to tackle this, and we’re going to conquer this.” Fortunately, the cancer hasn’t advanced beyond its initial location, and I’m preparing for a procedure to remove my prostate gland. Here’s to overcoming this challenge!

The news arrived merely months following the demise of his sister Linda due to pneumonia in January, approximately two decades after she was initially diagnosed with breast cancer.

Linda became well-known along with her siblings Colleen, Maureen, Bernie, Denise, and Anne as part of the band The Nolans during the 1970s. Later in her career, she appeared on reality shows such as Celebrity Big Brother and daytime talk show Loose Women.

Among the eight Nolan siblings, Brian shared his family’s heartbreaking encounter with cancer. Alongside Brian, they also lost their sister Linda, who battled breast cancer in 2003. Sadly, sisters Bernie and Coleen have both grappled with their own struggles against cancer as well.

In the year 2023, Colleen revealed she had received a diagnosis of skin cancer. She was currently undergoing treatment for a type of skin cancer known as carcinoma on her shoulder, as well as pre-melanoma lesions on her face.

In the year 2000, Anne was diagnosed with breast cancer, which resurfaced in 2020. However, she recently declared that she no longer has cancer.

Brian expressed his hope that cancer would stop bothering us,” he said to The Mirror, further mentioning they were sent to a genetic clinic for examination to see if there’s a shared genetic factor in their cancer diagnoses.

Coleen Nolan left a touching tribute to sister Linda after her passing on January 15 this year.

Linda’s spirit will endure through the countless lives she impacted, and though the void left by her absence is beyond description, we find comfort in the love she bestowed upon us all. Farewell, dear Linda.
