Lily James’ friends fear Downton Abbey star may bitten off more than she can chew with ‘wild’ stuntman boyfriend Bobby Holland Hanton

She’s known for enjoying a good party, whether it’s having drinks with her friend Billie Piper in a park during lockdown, or dancing the night away at a fancy hotel in Mexico earlier this year.

I’m a bit worried about Lily James and her new boyfriend. From what I’m hearing, he’s really into partying, and some of her friends, including me, are concerned it might be too much for her. It seems like she might have gotten involved with someone who lives a very different lifestyle than she does.

The 36-year-old is dating 41-year-old stuntman Bobby Holland Hanton. They reportedly met while working on the action movie Subversion, which was filmed in Australia’s Gold Coast in September.

Last weekend, the couple was photographed leaving Alexandra Palace in London after attending a five-hour performance by DJ Solomun.

A source familiar with the Downton Abbey star revealed she’s fallen for Bobby, describing him as grounded and a refreshing change from her typical romantic partners in the acting world.

However, people are worried he occasionally goes overboard with partying, which is a concern for Lily, as she’s been hoping for a more settled life and a family for a while now.

Hanton works as a stunt double for stars like Daniel Craig, Ryan Reynolds, and Chris Hemsworth – who he’s become good friends with. He frequently shares details about his workouts and how he stays in great shape.

After undergoing back surgery and taking painkillers, the actor decided to give up alcohol for a year. This came after his split from wife Rachel Hunter in 2022 and a subsequent relationship with Love Island’s Maura Higgins.

He shared with Centr magazine that he typically enjoyed a drink or two with dinner alongside his wife on Thursdays or Fridays. He might have a few more drinks when going out to dinner on Saturday, and on Sundays, he’d usually have a couple of beers with his Sunday roast.

‘So on average, let’s say seven to eight drinks a week.’ 

He explained that he’d significantly reduced his alcohol intake to only a drink or two a week, and emphasized that he’d made many positive changes in his life, which were now paying off.

He started dating Lily a year after his ten-month relationship with Maura ended. They were first seen together last month at the Red Lion pub in Fareham, Hampshire.

I’ve been following Lily James’s personal life for a while now, and it’s well-known she was with Matt Smith – you probably know him as the former Doctor Who! They were together for five years, which felt like a really significant relationship for her, but sadly things ended back in 2019. It was a tough breakup for her, as far as I understand.
