Lily Collins looks as chic as ever as she arrives in France on the Orient Express in time for the Emily in Paris season five world premiere

Lily Collins traveled on the Orient Express this past Sunday to generate excitement for the new season of Emily in Paris, set to premiere on Thursday.

The 36-year-old actress was seen at the Austerlitz train station in Paris, celebrating the upcoming premiere of the fifth season.

Lily stars as Emily Cooper, and she’s joined by her close friend Mindy Chen (played by Ashley Park) as they navigate the city together.

She looked effortlessly stylish in a delicate lace romper, paired with sheer tights to ward off the chill. A long trench coat and high heels completed her look.

The actress styled her hair in a short bob that beautifully highlighted her features, and she kept her makeup simple for the event.

Ashley, 34, was also in attendance as she joined Lily ahead of the highly-anticipated release.

Ashley looked fashionable in a large fur coat and suit, completing the look with sunglasses and heels.

Over the weekend, I traveled on the famous Orient Express, starting in Venice and arriving in Paris just in time for the movie’s world premiere on Monday.

The actors gathered for photos alongside Venice’s Grand Canal, with the famous Santa Maria della Salute church providing a stunning background.

Eugenio Franceschini, who plays Marcello, joined them for a press conference. Both local and international news outlets were present, along with the show’s creator, Darren Star.

Oh my gosh, you won’t BELIEVE this! Philippine just revealed she actually pleaded with French viewers – like, begged them! – to just try and find the funny side of ‘Emily in Paris’! Apparently, there’s been a lot of backlash, and she was desperately trying to get them to have a sense of humor about it all. I mean, can you imagine? She’s defending our show! It’s amazing and heartbreaking all at once!

The actress explained that French audiences were initially upset by the show, feeling it mocked or disrespected them.

Philippine, originally from France but raised in Italy, described how audiences in Italy reacted to the show in a strange and overly critical manner, becoming easily offended and dismissive.

In an interview with Bazaar, Philippine explained that some people were initially offended by the show, believing it was solely intended to mock them, ahead of the premiere of the fifth season.

I pointed out how he was portraying Americans, but they were so upset that they missed the fact he was actually making fun of everyone involved.

The first season focused on a character experiencing very predictable things, which is why it felt cliché. The creators were approaching it in an unusual manner, and I repeatedly asked them to not take things so seriously. It’s often a challenge for French audiences to embrace that kind of humor.

‘Now that it’s a huge success, they’re kind of going, oh, OK. But they’re still very snobbish.’

Philippine explained that she didn’t feel a strong connection to French culture before playing the character Sylvie, whom she loves bringing to life because it’s ‘so much fun’.

The actress shared that playing a tough, headstrong character helped her gain the confidence to stand up for herself and set boundaries in her personal life.

In the fifth season of the show, Emily Cooper (Lily Collins) will divide her time between Paris and Rome. She’s navigating a new romance while also working to launch Agence Grateau’s new office in Rome.

Before the new season begins, Philippine shared that she thoroughly enjoyed filming in Rome for four episodes. She also mentioned that returning to Paris felt quite formal and unwelcoming in comparison.
