Lily Collins finally recovers her engagement ring three years after it was stolen from a Hollywood spa

Lily Collins got her engagement ring back on Friday, three years after it was stolen from a fancy spa in Los Angeles.

The actress was heartbroken when a very rare item was stolen from her room at the West Hollywood EDITION Hotel on Sunset Boulevard in 2023.

Lily Collins, 36, had stored her engagement ring – a custom design by her husband, filmmaker Charlie McDowell, and valued at over £65,000 – at the event location.

When she came back, the actress from Emily in Paris discovered her things were missing, but it didn’t look like anyone had broken in.

Collins announced on Instagram Friday that the ring had been returned, thanks to a jeweler in Chicago.

She shared a picture of her unique rose-cut diamond ring and expressed her gratitude to @joethejewelerchicago for helping her get it back after it was stolen nearly three years ago.

‘Having this home means SO much to us. I’m still speechless it’s back on my finger.’

Keely Collins and actor Malcolm McDowell’s son confirmed they were getting married in September 2020. They first met the year before, while working on his movie, Gilded Rage.

The couple got married in a small, private ceremony at Dunton Hot Springs, Colorado, in September 2021.

Prior to his relationship with Collins, McDowell was linked to several actresses, including a long-term partnership with Rooney Mara, as well as brief romances with Emilia Clarke and Hilary Duff.

Lily Collins has been linked to several high-profile relationships, including a short romance with her co-star Zac Efron in 2012 while filming “Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile.”

The actress had previously shared how upset she was when she lost her engagement ring, explaining that her husband had designed it for her.

During an appearance on Live with Kelly and Ryan, she shared that her ring features a rose-cut diamond, and her fiancé, Charlie, designed it in collaboration with Irene Neuwirth Jewellery.

Jeweller Bonnie Dudeney told HELLO! that the gem appears to be a lovely rose-cut diamond, likely weighing between two and three carats.

This diamond cut looks bigger than most because it’s cut more flat. Its delicate light pink color is also incredibly rare.

‘While hard to place a value on it, it would certainly command a retail price upwards of £65,000.’

The actress is relocating from Los Angeles to London with her husband and their one-year-old daughter, Tove.

According to reports, she’s been considering moving back to Britain after enjoying her time in London while performing in the play ‘Barcelona’ over Christmas 2024.

Lily Collins, daughter of musician Phil Collins, is hoping to stay in the UK long-term as she looks at schools for her daughter, Tove, who was born through surrogacy in January of last year.

According to a source speaking with Daily Mail, Lily had a happy childhood in the English countryside and hopes to provide the same experience for her own daughter.

She expected to love the countryside, but she actually fell in love with London because her friends and family live there.

‘She is particularly taken with the north, like Hampstead and Queen’s Park.’
