They became proud parents to a baby girl earlier this year.
On Sunday, during the seventh day of the Wimbledon Championships, Lily Collins and her spouse, Charlie McDowell, took a brief respite from their parental responsibilities to attend Centre Court alongside several other celebrities.
Making her way to the renowned All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club in London, the 36-year-old star of Emily in Paris donned a fashionable striped dress with a detailed embroidered top, accessorized with gold flats.
The couple gracefully visited the Emirates suite, where they took photos with each other amidst other attendees like Andrew Garfield and Poppy Delevingne during a tennis event.
In January of this year, Lily and Charlie made an announcement that they had brought a baby girl into the world with the help of a surrogate mother. The director subsequently responded to unkind remarks about their use of surrogacy.
On Sunday, I witnessed the heartbreaking conclusion of Sonay Kartal’s impressive Wimbledon journey as she lost in the fourth round to experienced Russian player Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova. Meanwhile, British contender Cameron Norrie barely edged out Nicolas Jarry in a gripping five-set duel.

In that moment, the actress posted a photo on Instagram of her newborn, peacefully sleeping in a small crib, covered by a white sheet with her name embroidered on it.
‘Welcome to the center of our world Tove Jane McDowell,’ the Mirror Mirror actress wrote.
We can never fully convey the boundless appreciation we hold in our hearts for our remarkable surrogate, as well as all those who supported us throughout this journey. Our affection for you transcends the cosmos; it reaches beyond the moon and back many times…
Collins has since given updates to her fans on social media as she continues to enjoy motherhood.
Shortly following Lily and Charlie’s announcement about welcoming their baby through surrogacy, McDowell quickly defended against criticisms regarding this choice.
Regarding the thoughtless comments about surrogacy that have come up during our journey to becoming parents – it’s perfectly fine if you’re not well-versed in the subject of surrogacy.
The star, being the son of Malcolm McDowell from A Clockwork Orange, stated, “It’s alright to be unaware about why someone might resort to a surrogate for childbirth. It’s acceptable to not understand the reasons behind a surrogate’s actions, regardless of any assumptions you may have.
It’s also good to reduce the time spent spreading negative words, particularly when it comes to a precious baby girl who has brought so much love to others.

Charlie finished by saying, ‘I have to tend to her diaper change as she’s just had an accident.’
In the past, Collins openly discussed her aspiration for starting a family, which she found instrumental in conquering her struggle with an eating disorder.
In a past conversation with Us Weekly back in 2017, she clarified that everyone experiences healing differently. She personally didn’t have a sudden realization or “ah-ha” moment during her recovery process.
The catalyst for me to begin discussing my eating disorder was when I acknowledged my desire to have a family and children. I didn’t want this issue to become part of my future life with them.
