Lily Allen turned heads in a shiny, short satin dress at a book signing for her limited-edition zine in London on Friday.
The 40-year-old singer, who appears to have referenced the woman her ex-husband, David Harbour, had an affair with in her latest song, held an event at Bookmarc inside The Standard hotel.
Her gold dress featured a plunging neckline with a large, bejewelled bow across the chest.
Lily completed her look with opaque stockings and classic stiletto heels.
She swept her hair up into a neat style and smiled for the cameras as she signed magazines for her fans.
Lily debuted her new song, “Madeline,” today. It’s featured on her album, West End Girl.

The singer’s new, personal album deals with her husband David’s cheating. In the songs, she expresses her distrust, singing ‘I can’t trust anything that comes out of his mouth,’ and repeatedly questions, ‘Who is Madeline?’
This news follows a difficult period for Lily, after her marriage to David ended in December. She had previously accused him of several affairs, including a three-year relationship with a younger costume designer.
And now there is one question on everyone’s lips – who is the real Madeline?
People are suggesting Lily’s new song is similar to Beyoncé’s ‘Becky with the good hair,’ which was a pointed lyric in her 2016 song ‘Sorry’ – a song about infidelity.
It’s suspected that Madeline is a pseudonym Lily has used for legal reasons.
Dolly Parton’s classic song, “Jolene,” released in 1973, features her pleading with a woman not to steal her boyfriend, repeating the name “Jolene” and the line “I’m begging of you, please don’t take my man.”
And it seems Lily has penned the new ‘Jolene’ – but this time she is called Madeline.
In her song “Tennis,” Lily uses the sport as a stand-in for intimacy, suggesting a regretted encounter with the line, “So I read your text, and now I regret it.”

She went on to say she couldn’t understand how he’d been spending his time playing tennis. She clarified that if their relationship was only about physical intimacy, she wouldn’t feel jealous.
‘You won’t play with me and who the f**k is Madeline?’
As a lifestyle expert, I’ve noticed how songs often leave you pondering their meaning long after they finish, and this one is no different! It concludes with a really intriguing loop – a simple ‘Da, da-da, da-da,’ followed by the question, ‘Who’s Madeline?’ It’s almost like the artist is inviting you to join in the mystery, and then, right at the very end, they double down, asking ‘No, but who is Madeline, actually?’ It’s a clever way to leave a lasting impression and get people talking!
The song focuses entirely on the affair, and she seems to imply they had an open relationship, as long as any outside encounters remained discreet and lacked emotional involvement.
Oh my god, her voice just kills me. It’s like she’s reading my mind! That song… it’s about him, isn’t it? She’s questioning everything, wondering how long this has been happening, if it’s even real. Like, is it just physical, or is there something more? And he promised it would be a secret, just behind closed doors… but she doesn’t believe a word he says, and honestly, I don’t either! It’s so raw and honest, it breaks my heart every time.
‘I’m not convinced that he didn’t f**k you in our house’.
The chorus then goes: ‘We had an arrangement/ Be discrete and don’t be blatant.
‘There had to be payment/ It had to be with strangers/ But you’re not a stranger, Madeline’.

The song includes sections where the character Madeline sends Lily text messages, bluntly stating that their relationship has always been purely physical and that there’s no emotional connection between them.
We only connect when we’re together, and he always speaks of you with great respect.
Madeline then said she was really sorry to hear he was hurting and didn’t want to be the reason for his distress.
‘He told me you were aware this was going on and that he had your full consent.
If he isn’t telling the truth about that, please tell me. I strongly dislike dishonesty and have my own reasons for feeling that way.
‘Lies are not something that I want to get caught up in.
Feel free to contact me whenever you need to – whether it’s for more information, to talk things over, or just to chat. Sending you good vibes, Madeline.
Fans on Twitter were shocked by Lily’s candor, jokingly comparing her to the subjects of famous songs like ‘Jolene’ and ‘Becky with the good hair,’ and now adding ‘Madeline’ to the list.
When the Daily Mail asked about Madeline’s identity, Lily’s team chose not to provide a statement.
Lily’s new album draws heavily from personal experiences, specifically a difficult divorce and instances of infidelity. She’s said the record reflects events that happened in her own life.
She recently mentioned that her ex-husband wouldn’t answer questions about his three-year relationship with a coworker.
The singer ended her relationship with the Stranger Things actor after finding out he’d been having a three-year affair and was active on the exclusive dating app, Raya.
