Lily Allen reveals HUGE boost in music royalties since the collapse of her marriage to husband David Harbour after the singer was left devastated by affair scandal
Lily Allen shared that she’s experiencing a sudden increase in her music earnings lately, even though she hasn’t put out any fresh tunes for quite some time.
Her early ’00s pop tunes have recently gained renewed popularity, happening merely a few months following her divorce with actor David Harbour from Stranger Things and starting her own OnlyFans page.
40-year-old music artist, known for hits like Smile, The Fear, and Not Fair, attributes the sudden resurgence in popularity to a fresh wave of listeners discovering and streaming her tunes on digital platforms.
As a die-hard enthusiast, I must confess that tuning into that particular music is a bit of a challenge, but let me make this clear: I’m not hiding my feelings about it because I truly believe it held its own during its era. In fact, I dare say that even today, it manages to hold its ground.
In the recent installment of her podcast titled “Miss Me?”, she mentioned: ‘There’s a genuine revival happening online. I can tell because my royalties are increasing. It appears younger generations have taken an interest in my music.’

Surprisingly, the increase occurs even though Lily hasn’t launched a new solo single since her 2018 hit “Trigger Bang,” which was part of her fourth studio album “No Shame.
Her career-defining moment happened approximately two decades ago, marked by the albums “Alright, Still” (2006) and “It’s Not Me, It’s You” (2009), which respectively reached the second and first spots in the UK album charts. At present, she boasts an impressive 10.4 million monthly listeners on Spotify.
Lily, the offspring of actor Keith Allen and film producer Alison Owen, has confessed that she’s been keeping tabs on the growing trend using information gathered from streaming platforms.
However, although her earnings from royalties might be increasing, she’s vocal about the meager income many musicians typically get from music streaming services.
Last year, Lily responded to a post about her allegedly earning over a million dollars from Spotify, by disclosing that in fact, she generates more income by selling photographs of her feet on the platform OnlyFans.
In a post she made, it was stated as if you were an artist with almost 8 million monthly listeners on Spotify, yet making more income from 1,000 individuals who pay for photos of your feet. It’s like complaining about the musician, not the unfair system behind it – a nod to the saying ‘Don’t hate the player, hate the game.’
Lily started her OnlyFans profile during the previous summer, just prior to news breaking about her separation from David, who she wedded in 2020.
In my recent reflections, I’ve shared that the past year has been an emotionally challenging journey for me – with music serving as my primary solace and creative expression.
This response is written in first person from the perspective of a lifestyle expert sharing personal insights about coping mechanisms during trying times.

She expressed that reflecting on her experiences over the past year has been challenging. She’s faced some extremely difficult periods in her life, she added. Moreover, there’s been a strong reluctance within her to reach out and engage in lengthy discussions about the struggles she’s encountered.
Rather than letting her emotions overflow elsewhere, she pours them into her music studio instead. As she put it, “music is my outlet for releasing everything.
Writing and recording simultaneously with someone else present feels somewhat akin to therapy for me. There’s a sense of healing or relaxation that comes from this shared experience.
‘During the creative process, my collaborators often function as confidants, as they help me work through my personal experiences as they happen.’
She noted: ‘I have the ability to express myself musically, yet find it challenging when conversing with friends or family. This doesn’t imply insincerity… It’s just that I don’t feel I can articulate effectively. However, I can manage it in a three-and-a-half minute pop song.’
As my daughters, Ethel (aged 13) and Marnie (aged 12), who are both from my former marriage with Sam Cooper, approach their teenage years, I find myself at a liberating juncture. No longer tethered to the daily grind of school runs, I can now contemplate fresh creative ventures with renewed enthusiasm.
As a devoted parent, I’ve carefully structured my life so that I’m right here in the bustling heart of New York City, ensuring I’m always available during my children’s school hours.
To accomplish all my work-related tasks, it seems I would need to schedule them either during the summer vacation or the winter season.
Therefore, the rule was consistently: select the appropriate action as that’s the only opportunity you’ll have for the entire year. If this choice doesn’t pan out, then it spells catastrophe.
As they grow older, it’s clear that they still depend on me, but not as heavily as before. Now, there’s less need for me to take them to and from school.
As a die-hard admirer, I’ve come to realize that they are self-reliant, handling everything on their own. Even when I need to step out for a week, they’re resilient enough to manage. This newfound confidence has significantly reduced my apprehension about my absences.
She expressed that the recent change has revitalized her creativity. Furthermore, she is optimistic about all the possibilities it presents.
I’m brimming with ideas for musical compositions, and I’ve got plenty more albums waiting to be released. There are also numerous plays I plan to perform, and I aspire to land roles in TV series or movies. Additionally, if the opportunity arises, I look forward to writing songs for other artists as well.
Next month, she is set to reappear on stage in a fresh rendition of Hedda Gabler at the Theatre Royal Bath. This comes after her initial stage appearance in 2:22: A Ghost Story on the West End.
As the 20th anniversary of her debut album “Alright, Still” draws near, she’s started contemplating ways to celebrate this special occasion. She jokingly mentioned that she’d appreciate some enticing proposals from venues for 20-year anniversary performances.
Just prior to their separation, Lily started investigating as she suspected that David might have been unfaithful through a dating app.
She suffered deeply upon learning, as reported by The Mail on Sunday, that the actor apparently maintained a hidden account on the exclusive celebrity dating app, Raya.
The well-known singer created her own account on the platform, feigning interest in other women, and it is claimed she discovered that David had previously established a dating profile. According to reports, he was said to have been actively using the app for at least a month.
Raya is quite selective, admitting roughly 8% of its applicants, yet boasts over 10,000 active members, while an additional 100,000 are on a waitlist.
Once users find a new partner, they usually disable their profiles.
According to the source, Lily was attempting to identify the women that both appeared on the dating app Raya and were followed by David on Instagram. Her goal was to determine which woman David might have been dating. She was essentially employing a method she referred to as her ‘Wagatha’ approach.

‘Lily only rejoined Raya to try to figure out whether he was seeing someone.
Since meeting David, Lily hasn’t given a second glance to anyone else. Now, she’s heartbroken, as he ended their relationship a month back.
‘He was meant to be on holiday with her in Kenya over Christmas.’
The Mail on Sunday disclosed a supposed dating profile of David, which stated: ‘Currently in New York from Atlanta’ and ‘a secret nerd who portrays tough characters on screen.’
I, too, was characterized as residing in Atlanta, Georgia, a 800-mile distance from our previous family abode in Brooklyn, New York, which we relocated to in 2020. My wife, Lily, enrolled our kids in the nearby schools thereafter.
He purchased a residence in Atlanta a year ago, moving there to get nearer the Stranger Things production during the filming of its fifth and last season.
Lily’s close friends in London had long suspected that her husband might have been drawn to other females.
By the time the couple broke up, she had become convinced that he had a secret girlfriend.
