Lily, who has been getting help for a spending problem, didn’t hold back on her vacation, even though she skipped the luxury of an airport lounge.
On Sunday, while heading to her vacation spot, Lily chose to sit in the general waiting area of the airport rather than using a private lounge.
She posted a makeup-free selfie on Instagram while waiting at the airport with her daughters, Ethel, 14, and Marnie, 12.
Lily struck a pose, wearing glasses and a burgundy baseball cap. Her daughter, watching with her chin resting on her hand, seemed a little embarrassed.
Lily chose not to use the private lounge because she’s been getting therapy for compulsive shopping, which she used to do whenever she achieved something new.
Since her new album came out, the celebrity has been spending lavishly, reportedly believing she has immense wealth. However, she is now seeking help for a compulsive spending problem.
On a recent Christmas special of her podcast, ‘Miss Me?’, Lily shared details of some big purchases she’s made, like a £120,000 Porsche and a £16,500 Hermes bag. She co-hosts the podcast with her close friend, Miquita Oliver.
She laughed, showing off a large diamond and emerald ring. ‘I treated myself,’ she said, ‘and it wasn’t a small gift!’
It’s important to celebrate and acknowledge achievements. I truly feel like I’ve reached the level of a billionaire, and I’ve been celebrating by buying luxury items like handbags, jewelry, and a new car.
The singer revealed she’s been undergoing EMDR therapy for the last four months to address issues with her spending.
The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy explains that EMDR therapy can help people heal from difficult past experiences that are impacting their mental and emotional health.
This therapy combines eye movements with talk therapy to help people work through difficult memories. It aims to reduce the impact of negative thoughts, feelings, and physical sensations linked to traumatic experiences that feel blocked or are causing problems.
Lily described the process as ‘life changing,’ explaining that it typically begins by choosing a difficult experience to work through. You then visualize that experience, notice the feelings it brings up in your body and mind, and often find that the intensity of the pain decreases.
When you’re working to break a harmful habit, such as overspending or drug use, a helpful technique is to focus on positive feelings and separate those feelings from your sense of self-value.
She explained that she justifies her purchases, like a handbag, by telling herself it helps her become a better person. While she doesn’t understand why it works, she believes it genuinely does.
Lily has faced a difficult year following her breakup with actor David Harbour, 50, which happened at the end of 2024. The split was particularly hard for her.
Her new album, West End Girl, came out in October and has been praised by critics. It tells the story of her healing process after her divorce.
After weeks of rumors about a romance with writer Jonah Freud, 28, the two were seen sharing a kiss at a Christmas party in London last week.
Lily was spotted getting close to Matthew Freud’s son, Freud, at Stringfellows nightclub, and the two later kissed.
